Drance: “I’ve been checking this out. I don’t think there’s anything close by any means. And I think that Ryan Johnson’s construction from, that it’s like the runners back and forth are getting the list. And they’re waiting, that you know, his name is there, and it seems like they’re working to get closer. And at that time there’s no different types of Petters-trade protection and Petters-trade. He’s not moving at all, he’ll be involved in the conversation.”

Announcer: “Just one note on this that was on the big page for me before we continue with the Pettersson interview. (Rick) Dhaliwal talking about Halford and Brough that he heard that Montreal might sniff. Patrick Johnson reports that in the State, he heard directly that Montreal is interested in Pettersson.”
Drance: “But there is a feeling among the teams that they are at least struggling or kicking the tires on the matter of the way the deals are going, like Pettersson is not far from being market value without a return.”
Manager: “Yes.”
Drance: “Right. I mean that’s not like a dream world in the inbox of 650, 650 Dunbar Lumber. Like, what is 11.6 these days?
But like, hey, there’s a chance that Pettersson’s market value in 12 months, even if he’s a mid-six center now, right? Now, you hope you can get more from him.”
Host: “Yours, yours, I think the thinking from teams would be, okay, there’s a world there in 18 months, whatever it is right now it’s like you’re paying market value for it, but you’re getting that great opportunity that you can’t go on, you know, if you were earning as much as any center compared to you want to compare him to a mid-league player, right?
So it’s like, okay, you’re going to be close to market value, but there’s a lottery ticket that’s baked in a way that a lot of guys don’t have. “
The Blue Jackets receive calls on Zach Werenski, along with other Pre-Draft Projections
Drance: “So, yeah. The Canucks are motivated to move Pettersson, not immediately. He doesn’t have a list, but he has an idea of his options.”
Host: “That’s right.”
Drance: “He’ll be in talks if things get close, that’s definitely on the Canucks’ radar, based on what I’m hearing from a lot of league sources, you know, NHL mornings.”
