Blake Lively’s Mother’s Day Tribute After Baldoni Settlement

“Happy Mother’s Day to the woman who chooses happiness, everyday, no matter what,” Lively, 38, wrote on her Instagram Stories on Sunday, May 10, with a photo of her mother. “The strength and irreverence of that is something I will always appreciate, especially as I get older. He makes each day special for everyone around him. Especially his children and his grandchildren”

The Gossip Girl star went on to say, “She’s not just beautiful, she creates beauty, with her hands, her stories, her play, her intelligence, her amazing intelligence and her love. I’m so grateful, now and forever, for being shaped by your heart full of love, hope and magic. You make the ordinary extraordinary. I love you. Thank you mom.”

Lively’s heartfelt post comes nearly a week after Lively reached an unexpected settlement with Baldoni, 42, before the trial began.

Lively accused him of It ends with us costar sexually harassed her, fostered a hostile work environment and organized a smear campaign against her. Baldoni denied his claims, but his case was dismissed in June 2025.

On Monday, May 4, the pair reached an out-of-court settlement on the case, avoiding a trial.

“The final product – the movie It It ends with us – is a source of pride for all of us who have worked to bring it to life. Raising awareness, and making a meaningful impact on the lives of domestic violence survivors — and all survivors — is the mission behind it,” Lively and Baldoni said in a joint statement to us through their attorneys at the time.

The statement continued, “We are strongly committed to workplaces free of inappropriate and unproductive conditions. It is our sincere hope that this will bring closure and allow all parties involved to move forward in a constructive and peaceful manner, including a respectful online environment.”

Rachael Bennettcertified family law specialist and senior attorney at Sullivan Law & Associates, told Special Us Weekly that similar cases tend to settle much closer to trial because “the risk of putting the outcome in the hands of a judge is more dangerous to at least one, and here, perhaps both sides.”

“I think time here is of the essence,” he continued. “The settlement came after the judge dismissed most of Blake Lively’s allegations, including the sexual assault allegations that were at the forefront. In the end, the case was substantially reduced due to her claims of retaliation and those claims related to the contract.”

He adds, “That’s a huge power shift when those big emotional claims are gone. I think both sides may have decided that going through a public trial with huge legal costs and some potential reputational risk was no longer worth the gamble.”
