Who’s Off Campus’ Hunter Davenport? Mystery Explained After Twist

The first season of Off Campus ended on a cliffhanger when Hunter Davenport was introduced in a major book change – but who is the mysterious character?

Followers of Elle Kennedy‘s book series they are familiar with the character played by Charlie Evans in the show. Season 1 featured Allie (Mika Abdalla) formed a connection with the then-mystery man who then connected with him during a normal relationship with Dean (Stephen Kalyn).

The final scene of the season showed Dean arguing with Hunter but no other details were revealed. There seemed to be hints that Dean’s stories were connected to his sister, Summer, dating Hunter in the past.

On the page, Hunter was Dean’s colleague on The Score and they got along well. Hunter then turned his attention to his novel The Play – while the summer featured prominently in The Chase.

“[Hunter’s arrival is] the first point to hopefully explore some of Dean’s backstory in season 2,” creator Louisa Levy told Swoon in May. “But it was really an opportunity to put a twist on their storyline and expand it a little bit, so we have more room to play with them in future seasons.”

He continued: “We also wanted to give a nod to fans of the books that we can have some characters that you wouldn’t expect to show up in exciting ways.”

Based on- Off campus book series, the show, which premiered Wednesday, May 13, follows an elite ice hockey team and the women in their lives as they “struggle with love, heartbreak and self-discovery – forming deep friendships and lasting bonds while navigating the complexities of transitioning into adulthood,” reads the official synopsis.

Hannah (Ela Bright) and Garrett (Belmont Camel) The love story took center stage in season 1 — and several key moments from their book, The Deal, were swapped for an updated version. At the same time, the show established Allie and Dean as the next leads even though they were revealed in the third book in the series.

“Ever since the cast was announced, I feel like there’s been a lot of speculation going around the internet, and it’s been really fun to read,” Abdalla said alone. Us Weekly about Allie and Dean’s bond. “I think people will be surprised at least.”

He continued: “Even though we’re teasing Dean and Ali earlier than people expected, you’re still left wanting more.”

To further Allie and Dean’s story, the show introduced Hunter despite him not being linked to Allie on the page.

“It was really important to have that scene to minimize what happened between Allie and Dean. I want to see them go. I want to see them really separate,” Abdalla commented. “Allie just got out of a long-term relationship. She can’t do what she always does. … I really like the drama of Hunter’s storyline. They need to grow as individuals. So I really want to see Ali and Dean grow apart in season 2.”
