Why billionaire Taylor Swift may be at risk of Travis Kelce’s living expenses after marriage

Billionaire Taylor Swift may be on the hook for Travis Kelce’s living expenses after tying the knot.
Page Six spoke exclusively with attorney Sarah Luetto about what their prenuptial agreement might look like — considering Swift is worth more than the NFL player.
“When one party is more important than the other, prenuptial agreements often provide that the wealthier party will pay all of the couple’s living expenses while the wealthier party keeps their separate property,” Luetto, a partner in Blank Rome’s Matrimonial & Family Law Group, told us.
The lawyer, who does not represent either party, explained that some agreements involve a wealthy person “giving or transferring part of his inheritance to the community or property of another person.”
This will allow “each party to preserve investments and assets during the marriage,” Luetto said, adding, “The amounts transferred or donated often increase over time, reflecting the length of the marriage.”
While there are significant differences between Swift’s and Kelce’s estates, we’re told both hold intellectual property and other assets that are “inherently difficult to value and separate in a marital dissolution.”
“Given the complexity of their estates — and the lengths to which Swift has gone to buy out her royalties and protect her music catalog — it is likely that any prenuptial agreement will keep their estates completely separate, regardless of the efforts made by either party to advance the other’s estate during the marriage,” Luetto said.
This plan will make the dismissal “very easy” by both “retraining their place.”
Their agreement may also include terms that will not prevent them from entering into joint ventures or purchasing goods jointly.
“They will just need to determine their ownership interests in any jointly held assets on a case-by-case basis,” Luetto explained.
The fact that each has multiple domiciles in different states is another factor, as it may consider whether to include discretionary clauses – contract clauses that state which local laws will be interpreted and applied in the event of a dispute – before it.
Swift owns homes in New York City, Rhode Island, Nashville and Los Angeles.
Kelce has properties in Leawood, Kansas and Kansas City, MO. It is reported that he lives at home with his family in Orlando, Fla.
The 14-time Grammy winner and Kansas City Chiefs tight end may be using a prenup to protect his privacy.
“Swift and Kelce may wish to include policies that promote confidentiality and privacy,” Luetto said.
“This may include nondisclosure or nondisclosure agreements related to their relationship.”
Swift was named a billionaire by Forbes in 2024 after her record Eras Tour and purchase of her entire music catalog.
The athlete, meanwhile, has an estimated net worth of $47.3 million thanks to his football career, his “New Heights” podcast and other ventures, according to Forbes.
Swift and Kelce — who got engaged after two years of dating in August 2025 — are expected to say “I Do” this summer in New York City, a source previously told Page Six.
