When is Landman coming back for season 3? Movie Review Explained

Taylor Sheridanfan favorite series Landman has been renewed for a third season – but when will it premiere?
Director Stephen Kay he just teased Landman about when he would be back, he said The Hollywood Reporterthat the creators are “cutting while we’re filming so hopefully it will be out soon.”
The plan is to shorten the two-part development cycle to avoid long waits between seasons. This could mean a late 2026 or early 2027 release.
Inspired by the “Boomtown” podcast series, Landman focuses on the West Texas oil industry, with a special focus on disaster manager Tommy Norris (Billy Bob Thornton) and his family. Season 2, which premiered in October 2025, set Paramount+ viewership records after receiving more than 9.2 million streaming views for its first episode in the first two days of the service. Viewership is up from the premiere of the first season, making it the most-watched premiere of any Paramount+ original series.
In the season 2 finale, which aired in January, Cooper (Jacob Lofland) confirmed Ariana (Paulina Chavez) to report to the police about his sexual harassment. Because of this, Cooper was questioned after it emerged that the man who committed the incident died of a heart attack after he was taken to the hospital.
When Cooper’s father, Tommy, is caught up in the situation, he makes sure that his son will not be charged for a crime he did not commit. Courtesy of Rebecca (Kayla Wallace), Tommy was able to stop the authorities from arresting Cooper.
Tommy also had to deal with the consequences of being fired by Cami (Demi Moore) by establishing his own oil company. He got all of his coworkers — and family — on board by hiring Cooper, Ariana, Rebecca, Dale (James JordanTL (Sam Elliott), Nathan (Colm Feore), Boss (Mustafa Speaks), King (Dougie Hall) and Cheyenne (Francesca Xuereb).
Before starting his own company, Tommy received an investment from Gallino (Andy Garcia) after questioning his connection to a drug cartel earlier in the season. There was also Ainsley (Michelle Randolph) struggling with the college cheerleading squad – while also befriending her former roommate, who decided to move back in with her at the end of the finale.
Top story lines are a staple of Sheridan’s hit Paramount+ show. Ahead of the season 2 finale, Randolph, 28, reflected on getting “a combination of misogyny” and admiration from her characters at Sheridan’s. 1923 again Landman.
“All of the above, I had to stop taking responsibility for my character because if you spend a lot of time in someone else’s head, you start to understand how they think,” he explained to Interview Magazine. “To Ainsley [on Landman]I can’t be more different than him, but I also respect him. I would like to say that he is not dumb, he has limited experience in life, and we see him in his formative years.”
Randolph relished the challenge, adding, “How lucky you are to play an ongoing character. It challenged me in so many ways — what’s on the page is so different than what you see on screen. I tried to add how honest and sincere she is so there are more positive qualities.”
Landman currently streaming on Paramount+.
