Stephen A. Smith slams Jill Biden for covering up for Joe when she thought he was having a stroke: ‘She really messed me up’

Sportscaster Stephen A. Smith on Sunday blasted former first lady Jill Biden for covering up her husband while he thought he was having a stroke during a 2024 presidential debate.

Smith contested Jill’s dramatic reception in a recent interview, blasting her and Democratic Party officials for misleading the public while raising questions about the mental health of then-President Joe Biden, who was clearly ill.

“That last part, it really bothered me, and it really upset me,” the fiery political commentator told former Governor Andrew Cuomo on his WABC radio show “Pulse of the People”, talking about Jill’s reception.

Shortly after the debate, Jill congratulated her visibly confused husband during a campaign stop, shouting, “Joe, you did a great job. You answered all the questions, you knew all the facts.”

Smith was angry, “[A]At that time, his wife comes out, and she applauds his effort, and she said that he was good and answered all the questions and all this stuff.”

That only provides fodder for the story that Democrats are “not honest, not forthcoming, not open and always trying to find a way to manipulate and tell a narrative,” Smith said.

Smith recalled how he publicly insisted that a new president be elected at the time because he saw the decline of Joe Biden.

“They had an opportunity to take him out and put themselves in the first place where someone who was going to run against Donald Trump would have, it would have been done the right way,” he said.

“I’m not trying to say that Kamala Harris was a bad person,” he said of the Biden veep, who ended up taking his place in the election and losing to President Trump in a stunning fashion.

“What I’m trying to say, however, is that the process he had to endure was unfair because he went through the primary school and was finally nominated by the Democratic Alliance.”

The sportscaster, who once flirted with a 2028 presidential run, thought Joe Biden felt emboldened to seek a second term after beating Democratic expectations in the 2022 midterm elections.

Cuomo admitted that Democrats defending Biden were “all a crock” and that “anyone who saw him knows this.

“I think it’s cost us a lot, especially the Democratic Party, which is supposed to be the party of truth and courage,” the former New York Democratic governor said of Jill’s public outburst about her husband.

Both Cuomo and Smith have emphasized that they are not happy with the GOP, and have strong disagreements with Trump.

“But a lot of times, people want you to go out there and spew venom at the man in the White House,” Smith said, referring to Trump.

“When you look at the Democratic Party, and you talk about honesty and what’s missing, why is it so deep.

“You can’t be trusted because you’re focused on the wrong things.”

Cuomo emphasized that and argued that Democrats should make a convincing case to voters about what they plan to accomplish, rather than simply rallying against Trump.
