Stanley Tucci Defends Age Gap With Wife Felicity Blunt

Stanley Tucci and the wife Felicity Blunt they started meeting – despite being 21 years apart.

And obviously, I knew his family … his sister was one of my best friends. And we just finished it. We had a lot in common even though we had nothing in common.”

Stanley added that Felicity has “changed [his] life” by giving him and his children “a sense of security.”

“And he’s fun. It’s like being with him is fun,” continued his wife, who works as a writing agent. “And he’s incredibly optimistic, which I don’t always have. He’s intelligent, I mean, his mind is amazing. His ability to find information, not just in a book, but in the world and process it, and turn it into something else is amazing. It’s amazing.”

Stanley also opened up about his age gap with Felicity when he was interviewed in September 2025 The Times of London.

“I’m sad that I won’t see him grow old and I won’t be able to take care of him if he needs to be looked after,” he said while admitting that he doesn’t mind being older than his wife. “I think there’s something really good about people growing old together. And unless there’s a miracle, that’s not going to happen.”

Elsewhere in Thursday’s podcast episode, Stanley admitted to being “scared” of death and aging after Kate’s death.

“When you lose someone you really love, and when I lost my wife, and you see that terrible struggle, and you see the effect it has on your children, on your family, on yourself, it never ends. And it robs you,” he explained. “It empowers you. You have to let it empower you. But I think there’s always a fear of death, but maybe even more so, because you know what it’s like. You know what it can be like. And that’s kind of a scary thing.”
