NYC Penn Station shooter had ‘fury in his eyes,’ victim says: ‘I wanted to kill me’

A knife-wielding maniac who injured five people in a random attack at Penn Station had “fury in his eyes,” one of the victims recalled Monday — saying the horrific incident happened so quickly, he didn’t even realize he had been stabbed.

“He went to kill me! I saw anger in his eyes,” Henry Obadiah, 60, an accountant from Long Branch, New Jersey who lives in Midtown, told The Post of the chilling, Sunday night.

Obadiah found himself in the busy path of the alleged hit-and-run suspect – identified by law enforcement as Hector Deleon, 51 – when he saw two people running into each other as he headed to the station.

“The madman blindfolded me and just put me in a round house! And I heard a guy on the stairs saying ‘he has a knife! He has a knife!’

“I didn’t realize I had just been cut in the face,” he recalled.

Obadiya said he thought he had just been punched – until he saw a cut on his face when he looked at a picture of himself on his phone.

“I told myself that he just hit me with his fist and I heard a hole in my lip and saw blood but when I looked at my phone I saw a big wound on my face and I ran to the police and said that I had just been attacked,” he said.

Obadiah was one of the five victims who were operated on or stabbed during the violence at around 7pm on Sunday.

The Post’s front cover story about the rampage inside Penn Station.

After Obadiah told police he could identify his assailant, he walked with police on a “high trail of blood” to the New Jersey Transit platform where he saw another victim who appeared to be in his 20s sitting on the ground holding a bloody towel over his head as strangers tried to help him.

“The paramedics arrived soon after, when they were telling me that they had to take me to the hospital, all these policemen started passing by shouting ‘you stabbed someone!

Obadiah criticized the state of transport security in the Big Apple, and Mamdani management’s response to it.

“Something needs to be done, the city is getting worse and no one seems to care about this. Law and order management is not a priority! Attackers have more rights than those who are being abused, it is not surprising that this happened and it does not look like it will change under this plan,” he said.

“The majority of people vote for this thing and they vote, ‘let’s get rid of the police, the police should stand down,’ it just changes!”

The suspect was said to have been hospitalized on Monday and was to be charged.
