Morgan Kohan’s Sullivan’s Crossing in Maggie, Cal’s Possible Breakup

Sullivan’s Crossing’s Morgan Cohen talks about a possible breakup between Maggie and Cal after they kiss their estranged husband Liam.
“There was a lot of shaking, whatever,” Kohan, 32, said to himself Us Weekly about the split on the Monday, June 1, episode of the hit CW show. “That would completely undermine the foundation of any relationship.”
Kohan continued: “No matter how strong you are – and maybe if you’re too strong – it’s very difficult [to work through that]. I think Cal and Maggie were meant to be so I have hope for them.”
Season 3 of Sullivan’s Crossingwhich premiered on Netflix in August 2025, first featured Maggie’s ex when he talked about Liam (Marcus Rosner) as a summer flight.
Liam was last seen before season 4 – with Maggie’s boyfriend, Cal (Chad Michael Murray), finding out that she was actually married to Liam.
The fourth season was very confusing for Maggie as she found herself getting closer to Liam. After finding out that he didn’t dump her for work but was actually taken as a military reporter for three years, Maggie and Liam share an unexpected kiss.

“I feel like it wasn’t really his decision, but something happened to the body and the shock in such a way that he fell to the ground and said, ‘Can I breathe?’ His eyes suddenly opened,” explained Kohan. “It was just like all the things he’s been holding on to for so long – it all made him open up.”
Kohan revealed the “inevitability” when it comes to Maggie and Liam’s feelings resurfacing. While the actress couldn’t tease how the love triangle will end, she expressed “hope” that fans will be happy – and that Rosner can return for more seasons.
“Everybody on set loves Marcus so we’d love a version where he’s there in some way,” she said. “We’ll see how that goes but as hard as it is for some of our listeners, I’m happy with the way it makes people feel.”
Looking ahead, Kohan hopes for more opportunities to learn about Maggie’s life before returning to the Crossing.
“What I loved most about all of that was making things happen and seeing a little version of Maggie,” he said to Us. “To see him fully let go and continue what was happening in front of him … I really liked seeing him.”
Sullivan’s Crossing is currently streaming on Netflix. Season 4 airs Mondays on The CW at 8 pm ET.
