LOS ANGELES – As celebrities continue to follow Spencer Pratt’s campaign for Los Angeles Mayor, reality TV star and OJ Simpson murder witness Kato Kaelin tells Fox News Digital that Pratt is the person he thinks will bring the change the city needs.

“It’s clear to me that Karen Bass did a terrible job as Mayor of LA during the 2025 fires,” Kaelin, a Los Angeles resident who rose to fame after testifying in the OJ Simpson murder trial, told Fox News Digital, referring to the heavy criticism Bass faced for leaving the country during the Pacific wildfires that killed two people. Palisades and Altadena.

“I supported Rick Caruso for Mayor in 2022 and I think Spencer Pratt can shake things up this cycle. LA needs a change in leadership.”

Kaelin, who has lived in Los Angeles for decades but can’t vote in the race because she lives outside LA, said it “shocks” her that anyone would “even consider voting for Bass.”

“His agenda is not for the people of L.A., he’s proven it with policies on homelessness and street drug abuse,” Kaelin said, adding that the current mayor “has been seen as a very bad person” and Pratt “brings energy and a different perspective.”

Kaelin first became a household name during the 1995 OJ Simpson murder trial. He testified as a key witness for the prosecution as, at the time of the murder, Kaelin was staying in a guest house on Simpson’s Rockingham estate.

The case turned Kaelin from an up-and-coming performer into a pop music sensation, with her unique looks and courtroom testimony garnering her public attention.

More than a dozen celebrities have followed Pratt, a former reality TV star from “The Hills,” as he continues to say that his status as a political outsider is what Los Angeles needs.

Some say that political experience is the first requirement to run for mayor of the second largest city in the US.

“I relate to Spencer because she gets hate just because she was on a reality show and sometimes I was hated just for being a witness – vote for Pratt!” Kaelin said.

Pratt, a registered Republican running as an independent, will enter the mayoral race Tuesday night against Mayor Bass and progressive City Councilwoman Nithya Rahman.

In Los Angeles, the top vote-getters will advance to the November election, unless a candidate receives 50% of the vote, in which case they will automatically win and be named the next mayor.
