Vought Rising marks another spinoff series in the world of Boysexpands on Eric Kripke’s series Motherhood, which is currently in its fifth and final season.

Deadline broke news of Elizabeth Posey’s casting in March 2025. Variety first reported the casting of Will Hochman (Blue Blood). Jorden Myrie (Sherwood), Nicolò Pasetti (Bel Canto), Ricky Staffieri (Bova and Brian J. Smith (Mind8) were added as standard series in August 2025.

Deadline first exclusively reported the additions of Mason Dye (Stranger Things) and Kiki Layne (The Old Guard 2) as a series regular in August 2025. Dye was previously cast as Bombsight in Season 5 of Boys.Prime Video has revealed some of the cast and their costumes for August 2025. Hochman will play Torpedo and Posey will play Private Angel.
Cecily Strong, Mark Pellegrino, Eric Johnson and Annie Shapero are aboard the show in recurring roles in October 2025, Deadline reported. Raphael Sbarge, Romi Shraiter, Aaron Douglas and David Hewett joined later that month, which Deadline first reported.
In late March 2026, Deadline broke the news that James Wolk (They don’t waitDylan Arnold (Lady in the Lake), Josh Randall (Channel 19) and Chad Willett (Supernatural) were cast in important recurring roles.
Ethan Slater’s Thomas Godolkin, founder of “God U” and introduced in Season 2 of Gen Vmay appear in later seasons of Vought Rising.

“It’s a twisted murder mystery about Vought’s origins in the 1950s, the early actions of Soldier Boy, and the deception of Supe known to fans as Stormfront, who went by the name Clara Vought,” Kripke and showrunner Paul Grellong told fans at Comic-Con 2024, “We can’t wait for your souls.” A tragic story steeped in blood and Compound V.”

Soldier Boy and Stormfront have similar origin stories. Ackles’ Soldier Boy is the first American Supe to age, created by Frederick Vought, during World War II. Stormfront was Vought’s first successful study of Compound V, and they married before moving to the United States.
