Donald Trump Calls for Freedom 250 Concert Cancelled

UPDATED, with additional statement: After most of his Freedom 250 list was pulled from the upcoming White House celebration, Donald Trump has responded.
On Saturday, the twice-impeached POTUS threatened to “give a big speech” during the ‘America Is Back Rally’ after artists such as Martina McBride, Bret Michaels, Morris Day, Young MC and The Commodores pulled out of the Great American State Fair, a 16-day event taking place on the National Mall from June 25-July 10 for the millennial anniversary.
“I understand that Artists are getting the ‘yips’ related to their performance on Wednesday,” he wrote on Truth Social. “So I’m thinking of bringing the Number One Attraction anywhere in the World, the man who gets more audiences than Elvis when he was alive, and he does it without a guitar, the man who loves our Country more than anyone else, and the man who some say is the Greatest President in History (THE GOAT!), DONALD J. TRUMP, to replace this ‘Honored and Infamous Speech’ as the Third World, the World’s Most Revered Since I’ve Been President!”
Trump continued, “Two years ago, the United States was dead. Now we have the ‘HOTEST’ country anywhere in the World. I don’t want those so-called ‘Artists’ who are paid a lot of money, who are unhappy. I only want to be surrounded by Happy People, Smart People, Successful People, and people who know how to WIN. So, by representing this TRUTH the possibility of doing the AMERICA IS BACK Rally on Wednesday, in Washington, DC, at the same time, invited by the Great Patriots only – It’s Gonna Be a Wild and Beautiful Celebration of America DONALD J. TRUMP”
Despite multiple cancellations since the show was announced this week, Vanilla Ice and Milli Vanilli’s Fab Morvan have defended their casting decisions.
Freedom 250 is an independent group founded by the Trump administration to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States.
A spokesperson for Freedom 250 did not immediately respond to a request for comment. But spokeswoman Rachel Reisner said The New York Times“Freedom 250 is centered around our signature celebrations and events that honor our history and are inclusive of all Americans – welcoming all who share our mission to commemorate this historic event in a way that uplifts and unites America.”
Later, Trump re-entered Truth Social, expressing the idea of a MAGA convention instead of “high-priced musicians, who nobody wants to hear, whose music is boring, and yet they do nothing but complain.”
He urged that he “cancel” the event “just as I withdrew my involvement with the failure and unsafeness of being at the Kennedy Center, because a Federal High Court Judge, said I should not be allowed to use my time and money to MAKE THE CENTER BIGGER, in fact, bigger than ever!” (This is in reference to yesterday’s ruling by a federal judge, who blocked Trump’s name from appearing in the national cultural center and lifted its proposed two-year closure for maintenance yesterday — a move Trump has since rescinded.)
The POTUS continued in a new post: “Now, the Kennedy Center is going to collapse, both structurally and financially. Judge Cooper and his wife, Amy Jeffress (obfussing anyone?), should be ashamed of themselves. Judge Cooper, like many other Disciplined judges on my cases, should be DISMISSED.”
