Cooper DeJean Talks Fan Interactions, Golf and Jason Kelce

Quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles Cooper DeJean has become a hero in the City of Brotherly Love during his two seasons in the NFL — and he has his inner circle to thank for making sure he keeps his head on his shoulders.
“I think it’s the people around you that keep you humble and keep you down to earth,” DeJean, 23, said to himself. Us Weekly at T-Mobile’s Club Magenta in the 2026 PGA Championship on Saturday, May 16. “I feel like I have a great group of people around me — friends, family, who keep me grounded — which is great. I feel like it doesn’t cost anything to be the top guy.”
DeJean preached the importance of “just being a good person whenever you’re in front of people, seeing fans, saying hi.”
Although DeJean has made a name for himself on the field — his pick six Patrick Mahomes during Super Bowl LIX, perhaps especially – his increased public interest also coincided with the interest in his life.
DeJean was rumored to be dating a WWE star Nikki Bella last year, and attended the Kentucky Derby earlier this month with a Dallas Cowboys cheerleader Abby Summers.
“It can be hard sometimes,” DeJean said of the attention. “But I think it’s nice to see how people support us [in Philadelphia].”
DeJean was given a small map by the former Eagles star Jason Kelcewho retired a month before Philadelphia drafted DeJean.

He’s still inside the building, working on things. Talking to him, seeing him and hearing his experience in his 12 years here is great to see.”
He added of Kelce, “And he’s a great golfer. I got to play golf with him, too.”
DeJean admitted to being more competitive on the golf course and was able to defeat the former Eagles center during their meeting together.
“I think I beat him that day, but he played really well,” DeJean recalled.
On the topic of golf, DeJean was at T-Mobile’s exclusive Club Magenta venue at Aronimink Golf Club outside of Philadelphia for the 2026 PGA Championship, highlighting T-Mobile’s new 5G-enabled streaming technology, their work developing the technology behind the PGA Championships app and the PGA Championship’s Range Show.
“With the technology that T-Mobile is using with the game of golf now, I think it helps get fans more involved in the game when you’re sitting at home watching it on TV,” DeJean explained. “Obviously it’s fun to see space and watch it live, but I feel like it’s fun to see all the different technologies on TV.”
He added, “The game is growing, and it’s growing fast.”
