According to Brownlee, her emergency surgery was “one of the scariest moments” of her life.
“I’ve never had a good night’s sleep in a hospital for anything in my life, so I’m laying there in a room full of people,” explained the YouTube star. “I put this curtain in front of me because they don’t want to see it, I was numb too.
River was finally delivered safely, which was a stark contrast to the birth of Brownlee and Athena.
“Because I had a C-section, it was like, ‘We’re going to book you in for another one,'” she said of giving birth to her second child. “That’s what they like to do, but the midwives were like, ‘No, we think you can have her naturally, so at least try.’ I did, and it went very quickly. … I was very proud of myself, and I was happy that I had a natural birth, which I would have always chosen instead of a C-section.”
