World Cup fans take over Seattle ahead of USA vs Australia

The 2026 World Cup brought fans from around the world to America.

Teams have taken over cities from the East Coast to the West Coast, and Seattle is no exception. Ahead of Friday’s hotly contested match between the U.S. men’s national team and Australia at Lumen Field, World Cup fans packed the Seattle Waterfront at Pier 58.

World Cup frenzy has taken to the streets of Seattle ahead of Friday’s showdown between the USA and Australia.

The main rally begins with the 12-minute March to Match, which began at 10 am PT. Event capacity is 1,709.

USA fans weren’t the only ones joining in the celebrations as Australian fans traveled to the United States to see their national team play.

Fans decked out in gold-yellow Australia jerseys started the fun early, crowding Seattle’s breweries and streets at 7:30 a.m. on Friday.

Attending a game at Lumen Field costs a pretty penny as tickets have understandably increased due to the results of the competition. The highest ticket price for Friday’s clash is more than $10,000, while the lowest ticket price is around $1,500, according to Gametime.

Australia go into Friday’s match as underdogs, but the strength of the team is expected to make the Group D battle very interesting. The US can take first place in the group with a win over Australia as both teams enter the tournament with three points following their victories in their World Cup openers.

A large crowd of USA soccer fans, many dressed in red, white, and blue, cheered and held up a man's face.

Christian Pulisic plays against Australia

Americans received some bad news on Friday morning when it was announced that USA star Christian Pulisic will not be available to play against Australia.

The 27-year-old suffered a calf injury in training last week and it hurt him badly against Paraguay.

USMNT head coach Mauricio Pochettino met with the medical staff on Thursday night and Friday morning to determine Pulisic’s availability.

Kickoff for USA and Australia is 12 pm PT.
