Will the Philadelphia Flyers prioritize defense this offseason?

Anthony Di Marco of the Fourth Season joined Sirius XM NHL Network Radio Saturday, TFP Hotstove with Dennis Bernstein, Dave Pagnotta, and Ryan Paton. There, he was asked what is most important to the Philadelphia Flyers this offseason.

Dennis Bernstein: “Going into the offseason, the biggest need Danny Briere has to fill is number one, center, top 4d or long-term goaltending.”
Anthony Di Marco: “You know what? I think he’s a defender and a power play defender, not even a top 4D, because I think all four of those defenders have been a miracle in the playoffs, especially with their offense that’s very inconsistent and anemic at times like (Cam) York, (Jamie) Drysdale, (Travisine) all of Santa, (Travisine) is fun.

But there’s one thing they all lack, and that’s the ability to step up the ice and contribute offensively, especially on the power play, the worst power play left in the playoffs. (not in the playoffs) works out to one percent. They need a quarterback on the power play, 100% because the DB, the difference is the forwards, that, like, yeah, the offense was struggling.
But you see pieces in place that you can’t put back. And you get internal growth in (Matvei) Michkov, (Porter) Martone, a healthy Owen Tippett, Tyson Foerster gets a full season to recover from an injury. You have seen him fighting with it since he will probably come back soon.
Trevor Zegras, all these guys in the backfield, I think they’re all who they are. And I love all those defenders. I think they are all top four defenders, but they lack that top dog. I beat this point to death.
And I don’t think the Flyers are too excited about the idea of paying Bowen Byram $9 to $10 million a year. But I think that’s a guy who would both fit the bill, given what he’s done in Buffalo, especially during the playoffs and being available now, based on how good Buffalo has been.
I think there would be no rush to trade Bo Byram, and Dave can talk to us better than I can. But with a year left on his contract, do they want to commit nine, ten million dollars long to another left-handed defenseman? And he’s probably the best guy available, in theory, on the trade floor because of the surplus Buffalo has, especially in that position department.
Center or Defense: What Will the Philadelphia Flyers Prioritize?
So I think a guy like Byram is the best for Danny Briere and Keith Jones, because, if only, they don’t have much coming up, and all of their defensemen coming up are right-shooting guys. So I mean, on the left side, they really lack stuff behind Sandheim and Cam York.
