Why Jackson Olson Hides Taylor Swift’s Love From Scouts

Jackson Olson he may not be afraid of his love Taylor SwiftMusic now, but before Savannah Bananas, he knew full well that it could be a problem if his teammates or baseball scouts found out about it.

“If you were to ask anybody on my college baseball team or high school baseball team, who could play for the Savannah Bananas, it would be me. I was the last, ever, ever to do something like this, because I was the most focused, driven baseball player of all time. I only cared about baseball. I only cared about getting better and working and getting to the next level,” he told the exclusive. Us Weekly on Friday, May 1, while promoting his partnership with an all-sports app called BZZR.

That’s why Olson, 28, thought it would be best to keep his crush on Swift, 36, under wraps. That is, until he found himself at Savannah Bananas. Never in his wildest dreams did the baseball player think his peers would tolerate his love for the Grammy winner — or his love for the beautiful world of Disney.

“To think that now I’m getting noticed for dancing, for loving Taylor Swift, for loving Disney, that’s something I never thought about. Like, I loved that stuff. I loved Taylor Swift, I loved Disney in college. [and] in high school, but I didn’t say anything, because I’m like, ‘No, I’m a baseball player. I can’t appreciate people. What if the scout finds out that I like Taylor Swift? For some reason, it felt like that might be the reason why I wasn’t drafted,” Olson explained. “And then I realized later, like, ‘Oh my god, people recognize me through the videos I make. [and] in the way I make them feel. So it was really weird at first, but now it reminds me [that] what I do is actually very good.”

Olson played college baseball — first at the University of Hartford in Connecticut, followed by a stint at Stetson University in Florida — before joining the Savannah Bananas as a third baseman.

The team is based in Savannah, Georgia, with players playing a different type of baseball known as Banana Ball.

Apart from their football skills, the Savannah Bananas are known for their showmanship, dance routines, sketches and fan participation during or often during the innings.

They have a huge following around the world for their infectious, wellness and personality. The players won’t go anywhere without being noticed, something Olson said he never gets tired of.

He remembered a moment two years ago after a long day of playing. It was around 11pm, he was signing autographs after the game when he saw three young fans waiting to meet him.

“I’m so tired I need to go to bed. And this woman walks by me on my left side, and she goes, ‘Do you ever get tired of this?’ I looked for him, I found him,” said Olson Us. “I remember thinking, ‘No, I don’t care about this, because I’m looking at the line [and] there were three children. The first kid had autographs all over his body, and he had one spot on his chest for me to sign. Then the next girl had a sign that said, ‘Jackson, let me make a TikTok with him [you].’ These kids waited an hour and a half, on the road, and the third little girl had a bracelet that said, ‘Olson number eight on it.’

After seeing the kids, Olson recalled thinking, “No, I’m not worried about this. It was a moment where I was like, ‘No. I will never, ever, take this lightly because those three kids waited an hour and a half to meet me, when they could have just as easily gone home. It was Thursday. They had school the next day, but their parents were around the corner, I love this’ my kids.

When Olson isn’t playing baseball or going viral on TikTok, he’s thinking about his next steps and opportunities.

BZZR is his latest venture. The app cuts out all the noise for sports fans, allowing them to focus on their chosen content.

“Basically, it’s just games with confirmed people. You don’t have to worry about seeing politics. You don’t have to worry about seeing anything else you don’t like, and it’s just games for sports fans,” explained Olson.

His favorite feature of the app is the side character.

“Obviously, I’m going to have the cast on the sidelines, and we’re going to be able to watch baseball games, MLB games, and talk about it, like the Eli and Peyton Manning cast,” Olson shared. “I think it’s great because people will see a different side of me.”

He scoffed, “We’ll be able to talk about random things, we’ll be able to talk about anything we want to talk about under the sun but also comment on the actual game that’s going on.”

Olson is busy in both his career and personal life.

The baseball player started his love affair with her Wheel of Fortune Pat Sajakdaughter of, Maggielast month after taking “girlfriend requests” in December.

The couple seems to be taking things seriously, as Olson has publicly announced that he is “in love” and took her to his Happiest Place on Earth: Disneyland!
