Bill Gates Admits to Affairs with 2 Women, Apologizes for Epstein Relationship

Bill Gates he admitted to having two affairs with Russian women while apologizing for his relationship with them Jeffrey Epstein.

“It was a big mistake to spend time with Epstein,” Gates, 70, said at a Gates Foundation town hall, according to a transcript obtained by the Gates Foundation. The Wall Street Journal. “I apologize to other people who got into this because of the mistake I made.”

Gates spoke to his staff at a meeting on Tuesday, February 24, saying he never did or saw anything “illegal” while spending time with the late sex trafficker Epstein.

“To be clear, I never spent any time with the victims, the women around him,” Gates added.

A spokesperson for the Gates Foundation told the Wall Street Journal that the founder holds town hall meetings with his staff twice a year. On Tuesday, Gates “spoke candidly, answered many questions in detail, and took responsibility for his actions,” according to the statement.

Gates’ comments come after the United States Department of Justice released another set of Epstein Files late last month. One unsent email alleges that Gates had sex with “two Russian girls” and contracted sexually transmitted diseases.

“I have had affairs, one with a Russian bridge player who met me at bridge events, and one with a Russian nuclear physicist who I met through business activities,” Gates admitted on Tuesday, without responding to STI’s claims.

Gates explained that he first met Epstein – who died by suicide aged 66 in August 2019 – in 2011.

“Knowing what I know now makes it a hundred times worse in terms of his past crimes, but now it’s clear that there was misconduct going on,” Gates said Tuesday.

The tech giant also gave credit to the ex-wife Melinda French Gateswho “always had doubts” about Epstein. (Frances Gates, 61, addressed her ex-husband’s connection to Epstein during a podcast episode released earlier this month.)

Gates also told his staff that his last contact with Epstein was in 2014. “After that, he kept emailing me,” Gates said.

Gates previously addressed his interactions with Epstein earlier this month, saying he regrets having any kind of relationship with the disgraced financier.

“Obviously Jeffrey wrote an email to himself. That email was never sent,” Gates told 9 News Australia on February 4. “The email is a lie. I don’t know what he was thinking there. Was he trying to attack me in some way?”

He added, “Every minute I spent with him, I regret it, and I’m sorry that I did that.”

Gates did not directly address the specific claims in Epstein’s alleged email at the time.

“I’ve never been to an island, I’ve never met women,” Gates added. “And then, the more it comes out, the more it will become clear that, even though the timing was a mistake, it had nothing to do with that kind of behavior.”
