Trump nominates Chris Klomp as Deputy Secretary of Health and Human Services

President Donald Trump announced Thursday that he is appointing Chris Klomp to serve as deputy secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).

Trump said he made the decision in collaboration with HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. and Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Administrator Dr. Mehmet Oz.

Klomp’s LinkedIn profile shows that he is “HHS Senior Advisor,” “Deputy Administrator for the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services,” “Director of the Center for Medicare, CMS,” and “Senior Advisor to the Secretary, HHS.”

Trump continued the post: “HHS is a large and complex organization, but Chris knows exactly how to run it. He is doing a FANTASTIC job leading Medicare, and overseeing the day-to-day operations. Secretary Kennedy, Dr. Oz, and I made this decision together!”
