TikTok presents TikTok Radio and Podcasts with iHeartMedia

With many TikTok FYPs already filled with podcast clips, it’s clear that the social media company is now trying to tap into the genre.
On Friday, the company launched the TikTok Podcast Network and a new platform called TikTok Radio. Both projects are working with iHeartMedia to help fill audio content first. The idea behind TikTok Radio is, in fact, FYP, well, radio and podcasts.

“TikTok Radio captures the speed and cultural momentum of the For You feed in real time, featuring trending music and commentary from TikTok creators and iHeartRadio founders. The station will broadcast live for the first time on March 13 from SXSW, and will be available on the free iHeartRadio app and on all 28 broadcast stations nationwide, in Austin, Austin, in Austin, and in Chicago, and in Miami, and so on.”
The TikTok Podcast Network, meanwhile, kicks off Friday with a list of creators who have signed up to start podcasts. Among those creators were Lele Pons, Carter Gregory, and Caroline Vazzana. The idea is to give fans a deeper insight into their favorite creators.
Here’s a breakdown of five long-form podcasts launched through the TikTok Podcast Network:
-
Set List: Hosted by media personality, music executive, host, and cultural tastemaker Carter Gregory (@thecarterb), The Set List takes listeners to backstage spaces where a culture of intimate conversations with top artists and creators is created, giving fans new insight into the creative DNA behind their work.
-

-

-
A piece of sports: Hosted by Tim Martin (@timbosliceoflife12), The Sports Slice is where the biggest stories in sports are broken down and given sound bites, real conversations, and absolutely no safe pickings.
-
The Clifford Show: Hosted by former college football player and sports creator Clifford Taylor IV (@clifford), The Clifford Show is your VIP pass into the race to make it in sports and media.
“We can’t be more excited to launch TikTok Radio and launch our first podcast podcast network,” Dan Page, TikTok’s head of global media and licensing, said in a statement.
“At TikTok, empowering creators to turn their passions into lasting careers is at the heart of everything we do, and this partnership opens up powerful new opportunities for them to expand their voices across radio, podcasts, and live sessions, while connecting with fans in new ways.”
