Teacher accused of sexually abusing 6 teens has violated house arrest 85 times: court documents

A Georgia science teacher accused of sexually abusing six teenagers violated the terms of her house arrest 85 times in just one month — including visiting places where the children were, according to new court documents.

Maris Nichols, 25, had already been charged with sleeping with a student when he was dramatically re-arrested last month after it emerged he was abusing five others – including a girl.

The suspended Alexander High teacher, who faces a total of 13 charges, was released on $74,000 bond May 21 but barred from contact with children other than her 6-year-old daughter under the terms of her bail, according to court documents filed Friday and seen by The Post.

Nichols was only able to go outside for a limited number of activities, including church visits, therapy sessions, court hearings and meetings with his attorneys.

Despite being forced to wear an electronic tag, he allegedly breached his bond 85 times in 27 days – even going to places with children.

“The Defendant’s bond conditions clearly limited his movement in authorized activities, including employment, religious services, visiting attorneys, doctor’s appointments, and court appearances,” prosecutors said.

“However, the compliance report shows that the Defendant repeatedly traveled to places outside of those authorized activities, including convenience stores and fast food places.”

Prosecutors argued that “the Defendant’s unauthorized trips to public places, including places where children are often present, undermine the purpose of those [bail] circumstances.”

Nichols, who was also the manager of football operations at the Douglasville school, is accused of violating the terms of his curfew 38 times.

Prosecutors said “his behavior while on bond shows that there are no regulations that will ensure compliance with the Court’s orders or adequately protect the public.”

He poses a “substantial threat to the public, poses a risk of reoffending, and poses a risk of witness intimidation,” prosecutors said.

Nichols was first arrested on May 8 after allegedly sexually assaulting one boy in a school locker, along with a parked Hummer – before rolling over another boy in his car on a golf course.

He is accused of sexting other teenagers with imaginary sex acts – even using a sex toy during video calls with at least two teenagers under the age of 16, according to an arrest warrant obtained by WAGA.

Nichols is said to have sent nudity messages to the girl and encouraged her to watch the “Fifty Shades of Grey” event before asking to discuss the intense noise.

Just three days before his first arrest, he ordered one of the teenagers he was sexting to delete his communications, the warrant said.

The complaint did not say how old the suspects are, except that they are all young people.

Four of his victims were students at Alexander High School, where Nichols was employed in May 2023.

It has emerged that some students knew he had an OnlyFans account – and the teacher was allegedly tipped off to get better grades.

He is said to have slept with one of his victims in the video wearing a “Jesus Loves You” sweater.

Nichols graduated from Liberty University, a private evangelical Christian school affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention of Virginia known for its strict cohabitation policy, where students are expected to “abstain from sex outside of biblical marriage,” according to its website.

He faces charges of child molestation, grooming, sexual intercourse and tampering with evidence.
