Los Angeles mayoral candidate Spencer Pratt scaled back his criticism of CBS News on Friday after the network aired the full version of an interview he previously described as an “episode” related to the Palisades wildfire recovery.

“A new era of responsible journalism!” Pratt wrote Friday on X after CBS posted an extended interview online. “Thanks to CBS for airing our full interview, so voters can hear about their next Mayor!”

The post marked a major shift from Pratt’s comments a day earlier, when he accused CBS of improperly editing footage from his destroyed Pacific Palisades home following the 2025 wildfires.

“People are done with these incomprehensible political tactics, and I’m done with CBS,” Pratt wrote Thursday on X. “They won’t get a word from me for the next 8 years as mayor. Adios!”

Pratt’s first criticism comes after CBS aired segments showing the former “The Hills” star discussing wildfire recovery efforts, homelessness and his independent campaign against incumbent Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass.

In an earlier post, Pratt accused the network of linking Bass’s team to the planned package.

“CBS filmed me at my burnout for over an hour, and they turned it over to Karen Bass’ PR team to edit it into a 5-minute comedy with clips from ‘The Hills,'” Pratt wrote.

Pratt also said CBS changed tack after screening Bass during a mayoral debate related to the Palisades Fire.

“After CBS shamed Karen Bass for looking at her lies about the Palisades Fire, they got the call,” Pratt wrote.

CBS later posted the full interview online after Fox News Digital reported on Pratt’s criticism and cited a source familiar with the production who said no outsiders were involved in editing the segment.

In a televised interview, CBS reporter Adam Yamaguchi asked Pratt about his lack of political experience and the upward trend in heavily Democratic Los Angeles.

“Why should the voters believe that you, who do not have your knowledge [the political] could it actually be a solution?” Yamaguchi asked Pratt in one episode.

Pratt defended his election by saying the city’s leadership had failed to address ongoing problems.

“I may not have the experience, but I have the common sense to say, ‘This isn’t working,'” Pratt replied.
