Prince William Gives Update on Kate Middleton’s Cancer Diagnosis

Prince William thanks his wife Princess Kate MiddletonHe continues to recover from his battle with cancer.
“She’s an amazing mother, an amazing wife and, really, our family couldn’t stand her,” said William, 43, on Friday, May 22, in a UK broadcast. Heart radio. “He was absolutely amazing, brilliant.”
Kate, 44, was diagnosed with an undisclosed type of cancer in 2024. After taking a step back from her royal duties, the Princess of Wales received a preventative form of chemotherapy as a treatment. Kate announced last year that she was sorry.
“I wanted to take this opportunity to thank the Royal Marsden for taking such good care of me over the past year,” wrote Kate. in the January 2025 statement. “My heartfelt thanks go out to all who walked quietly beside me and William as we looked at everything.”
He continued, “We couldn’t have asked for more. The care and advice we have received throughout my time as a patient has been exceptional. It is a relief now to be able to rest and focus on recovery … As anyone who has been diagnosed with cancer will know, it takes time to adjust to a new normal. However, I am looking forward to a fulfilling year ahead.”
Kate has been slowly returning to her managerial duties, including taking her first overseas trip to Reggio Emilia, Italy, earlier this month.

“[I am] I’m very proud,” said William on Friday morning.” “She’s been amazing. She’s been through a lot in the last few years, especially. And yes, she was looking forward to the trip to Italy. I’m so glad she went well.”
According to William, Kate “wanted to do a lot of research” on her trip to Italy.
“He spends, God knows how much time now, looking at all the papers. “Many times in the evening I struggle to go through the room, what papers he has put in, ready to read. I’m very happy that it went well for him, and yes, I think he’s back with a bang.”
William and Kate have been married since 2011, at which time they welcomed children Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 11, and Prince Louis, 7, who had been dealing with their mother’s health problems.
“Everybody has their own way of dealing with these kinds of things, and kids are always learning and adapting,” said William. Eugene Levy in October 2025 episode of the actor The Reluctant Traveler series. “We’re trying to make sure that we give them the security and safety that they need. We’re a very open family, so we talk about things that concern us, things that worry us, but you never know what the consequences will be. It’s just so important that we’re both there and reassuring the kids that everything’s going to be okay.”
