Oprah Winfrey fires back at social media mocking her ’90-year-old’ walk at Paris Fashion Week

Oprah Winfrey is also hitting back at online haters who trolled the longtime talk show host for walking like she was “90” during an appearance at Paris Fashion Week earlier this month.
“On the internet, there’s somebody, you know how people pull on the internet. So they were pulling on me and Gayle. [King] saying, ‘They look like they’re 90 years old,’” said Oprah, in an Instagram video clip posted Friday.
“And there was a moment when we walked into Chloe’s fashion show with mine [assistant] she just gave me a pair of Chloe sunglasses before I got out of the car,” he added, clarifying that those were not prescription glasses.
“I didn’t know where I was going, I couldn’t see,” he explained with a small laugh. “So everyone says ‘he walks like he’s 90,’ I couldn’t see! I told the guards, ‘I can’t see.
“And Gayle is like, ‘I broke two toes. I can’t walk,'” he said. “And the reason we look like we’re 90 years old is because I couldn’t see and Gayle has two broken toes!”
The fans quickly joined in the laughter.
“She is REALLY AMAZING and funny,” one user commented on the clip.
Watching the video after Oprah’s explanation makes it funny. He couldn’t see!” the other laughed.
Earlier this month, Winfrey stunned when she arrived at Paris Fashion Week with her new slimmer figure.
The 72-year-old news anchor was spotted arriving at the Chloe runway show looking remarkably slim in high-waisted jeans, a cream-colored top and a brown jacket.
She paired the look with Chloe sunglasses, a white purse and pointed closed-toe shoes, and wore her hair in a ponytail.
After trying many different diets, joining Weight Watchers and trying a holistic approach, Winfrey shared in 2023 that she started taking GLP-1 weight loss medication, telling People in December 2025, she made the decision when she realized that her lifelong struggle with her weight was due to obesity, a word she “avoided” before.
“If you’re genetically obese, I want people to know that it’s not your fault,” Winfrey said. “I want people to stop blaming themselves for genetics and environment that you can’t control, I want people to have information, whatever you choose to do with it, whether you get medication or you want to continue eating food.”
Winfrey shared that after she started taking GLP-1 medication, she started to feel like “everything is calmer and stronger” as it helps control “the messages that are sent to your mind about overeating.”
