Olivia Wilde reacts to ‘Lord of the Rings’ hobbit Gollum comparison after viral red carpet appearance

Olivia Wilde laughed out loud comparing her red carpet look to the character Gollum from “Lord of the Rings.”

The actress addressed the criticism about her looks during an Instagram Story interview with SFGate on Saturday, apparently not letting it bother her.

Wilde, 42, blamed her unique look on the camera’s fisheye lens – which produces distortion due to its extremely wide angle – but also admitted it wasn’t her most flattering look.

The Instagram story also features a photo of her much-talked-about red carpet look next to a photo of Gollum at the top.

“Listen to that fisheye lens,” said the “Don’t Worry Darling” director. “And I agree, is that my best angle?

When she was bombarded with vicious comments from SFGate on the viral Instagram page of their interview with her, she had fans who came to her defense.

“Unpleasant lighting and bad camera lens. Other than that she looks great and ages well,” said one fan on Twitter.

“I think it might have been the camera settings, or the filter of whoever took that video. I saw a news clip where he didn’t look bad,” admitted one fan.
