The 2026 Academy Awards will serve as the backdrop for a series of high-profile reunion ceremonies.
“We have a big meeting going on,” the executive producer of the Oscars Raj Kapoor was teased at a press conference on Wednesday, March 11. “There have been rumors of what that is, and we’re very excited to announce that we have Brides The reunion will be very special.”

Oscars producer Katy Mullan confirmed at a pre-ceremony press conference that “there will be a Marvel reunion for superhero fans.”
“We’re going to have superstars, and there’s also going to be an extraterrestrial on stage,” Mullan teased. “So you can get that.”
It is not known if the “alien” will be associated with the part of the MCU and one of the comic characters outside this world or a nod to a different movie, maybe like. Drew Barrymore‘s ET or Sigourney Weaver‘s Alien.

“We lost a lot of people this year who are important to many in the film community,” he said. “We’re taking it really seriously. We’ve had many, many conversations. … It keeps changing until it’s rehearsing, because we want to get the strike, the balance, right and make sure it feels like the right moment in the show at the moment.”
Mullan added, “We really hope it’s a gift that moves people and makes us feel like we’re making up for the amazing people we lost this year.”
