Billy Ray Cyrus he is one father who is proud to watch his daughter Miley Cyrus get a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame – and goes to great lengths to make sure the walk is fun and eventful.
“@mileycyrus I’m coming in the morning to clean and light the streets before the big day,” wrote Billy Ray, 64, via Instagram on Saturday, May 9. “Once in a lifetime, a father from Flatwoods, Kentucky saw his little girl … transform from an actress to a full-fledged rock star. ⭐️.”
On Friday, May 8, news broke that Miley, 33, will welcome the star to the Hollywood Walk of Fame at a ceremony on May 22.
“It’s time for a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame!!!! We can’t fix this,” Billy Ray said Saturday. “Art … imitation of life … imitation of art and in the family of Cyrus.”
Miley got her big break playing Miley Stewart/Hannah Montana on Disney Channel’s Hannah Montanaan early 2000s sitcom about a pop star’s double life as a normal middle schooler. Billy Ray, like in real life, played Miley’s father and a famous country music singer. Miley’s onscreen alter ego even starred in a 2008 episode titled “Hannah in the Streets with Diamonds.”
In another tribute, Billy Ray suggested Miley’s honor was “deserved.”
“It’s a long way from Tennessee to Hollywood @mileycyrus! And you did it girl,” she said he wrote on Friday. “Congratulations on your well-deserved star at @hwdwalkoffame! Remember that night you talked about when I snuck out of our hotel and we were going to hide in that dirty alley!!! You keep pointing at all the gum because you knew it made me sick!!!! 🤢So I’m proud of you 👏🏻 I love you. ♥️.”

Miley’s bond with Billy Ray, however, was broken by her parents’ divorce. They finally fixed the phones last year.
“Dad and I have had our challenges over the years,” Miley said he wrote in a March 2025 statement. “Now, as I’m 30 years old, family comes first to me above all else. I have peace knowing that bridges have been built and time has healed a lot. I’m grateful for the good health and love that flows through my family.”
