Grandfather Finds Wife, Grandson and Other Family Dead in Murder-Suicide
A grandfather found four family members — including his 2-year-old grandson — dead in a Virginia home during what is being investigated as a murder-suicide, according to police.
Authorities were called to a stabbing incident at a Woodbridge residence early Saturday, February 21. Police were brought to the bodies of four people who were stabbed to death, including an elderly woman who was described as a suspect, the Prince William County Police Department said in a release that day.

Lu is accused of killing her two-year-old son, her mother-in-law, Kegang Xie69, and her husband, Danxiong Gao 40, on February 21, according to the police, who did not reveal the name of his son because of his age.
Lu’s father-in-law was at home at the time of the alleged stabbing and found the bodies of Lu, Gao, his grandson, and his wife, a Prince William County Police Lieutenant. Jonathan Perok confirmed to Us by email.

When speaking outside the home on February 21, Newsham said the grandfather was “fully cooperative” and that “he was the one who called the police,” according to the newspaper.
Authorities said they found the suspected murder weapon and an autopsy confirmed “all parties died of stab-related injuries.”
A possible motive for this killing is unclear.
“Compare it to the worst nightmare you’ve ever had,” Newsham said, according to WTOP. “We don’t know the exact reason or purpose of this case, but seeing a family being destroyed like this is horrifying.”

A local resident Sonia Gonzalez he told the newspaper that he lived near Lu and his family and that the news of their deaths was “shocking.”
