LARRY KUDLOW: Mamdani-AOC’s antisemitic tail is now wagging every dog in the Democratic Party

In the days after the victory of the socialist or communist Mamdani-DSA in the City of New York, there were all kinds of speculations about a mass uprising, a split in the mainstream political parties, I think in this case the Democratic Alliance party. Economic concerns about affordability and other factors undoubtedly have some merit.
However, for me, and I want to make this very clear, the single most powerful passion that unites this socialist movement of Mamdani is antisemitism, hatred of the Jewish people, and the desire to eliminate the state of Israel. And that includes the diversity, equity, and inclusion, or DEI movement, which is in many ways the originator of this anti-crisis.
Just look at any of these Socialist mayors and their fellow travelers in New York of course, but don’t forget Los Angeles, Seattle, Chicago, a weird Senate race in Maine, and another crackpot Senate candidate in Michigan. And you will find endless self-restraint attacking Israel, trying to explain the horrific massacre in Israel on October 7, 2023. Even defending Hamas who did the killing.
One candidate here in New York, Darializa Avila Chevalier, organized a pro-Palestinian rally at Columbia University the day after Israel’s horrific attack on Hamas. Just scroll through their tweets and other communications and you will see constant references, against the Jews, against Israel, in favor of Hamas, or any terrorist groups against Israel, somehow all in the name of Palestine, which is actually a place that exists only in the imagination of these far left revolutions.
It is ironic that Israel itself enjoys trade, commerce, and business, even rule with large parts of Palestine, and the Arab communities living in the West Bank, all of which is unknown to these crazy American antisemites. And they would rather talk about all that than anything that was ever good about America. Indeed, whether it’s wiping their hands off the American flag, or blaming America for 9/11, or denying Holocaust standards, or arresting Benjamin Netanyahu. You could probably say that antisemitism is not only the driving force behind Mamdani’s socialism, it is almost the only force. However, on the economic side, there is an aha moment.

The latest agenda published by the national DSA includes the abolition of the United States Senate, demilitarization, open borders, universal amnesty for illegal immigrants, confiscation of large corporations, defunding the police, free government for everything, including all health care and abortion, voting rights for felons, confiscation of wealth and income taxes, and punishment. Also, packing the Supreme Court.
So as President Trump said it’s hard to know if this is socialism or communism or what. As he put it: “Well, they go left.” He added: “You know, you’re talking about democratic socialists,” but “really communists. These are the people. I looked at that woman last night. She’s not a socialist. I know a socialist.” He concluded by saying: “that woman is a communist.”
Whatever the ism, I know one: antisemitism. And so far we don’t see any men and women who are interested in politics or business or anywhere who have the courage to stand up to this discrimination.
It will likely be up to the Republicans this fall in the midterm elections to articulate a stark contrast to this new socialist Mamdani-AOC tail that is suddenly wagging every dog in the Democratic Party. But it won’t be enough to simply disagree about their crazy economy, or their border, or their security, or their hatred of our military. The issue of hatred and bigotry of any kind, and yes, anti-Semitism must be eradicated. Full stop.
