Millions of Catholics across the United States head to church on Ash Wednesday to receive a cross of ashes on their foreheads, a ritual that marks the beginning of Lent – the 40-day season before Easter that marks human mortality and calls believers to penance and repentance as they approach God during this holy season.

Jonathan Roumie, who portrayed Jesus on “The Chosen Ones” and is the main voice of the Hallow Catholic prayer app, told Fox News Digital this week that “Lent becomes a time of reflection, silence and reflection.”

“I think that every year, the sound of culture, the sound of the world, seems to grow more and more,” said Roumie.
