LA28 Ignores Wasserman’s Reprimand By LA City Council Over Epstein Files

A very large number of members of the Los Angeles City Council have serious problems with Casey Wasserman remaining in the cases of the upcoming Games of the XXXIV Olympiad, but LA28 does not seem to care.

“With the Board’s leadership position established, LA28 is focused on delivering fiscally responsible, privately funded sports that protect taxpayers and benefit Los Angeles,” an LA28 spokesperson said Friday after local politicians voted 12-0 in a resolution calling for Wasserman’s position at the Olympics to call into question his association decades ago with sex victim Ephile. Ghislaine Maxwell.

“We are on track to deliver a successful Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2028.”

That’s not how the LA City Council sees it.

In a double-delayed vote, the Council, including mayoral hopeful Nithya Raman, went on the record saying they were “concerned about the potential conflict between the values of the Olympic organization and Casey Wasserman’s association with the Epstein files, and want a full and transparent review of her involvement in the ongoing investigation into these matters.”

Due to the lack of ability to expel Wasserman, the resolution drafted by Imelda Padilla and Monica Rodriguez, of the sixth and seventh districts of the city respectively, urges “the Organizing Committee of LA28, and the International Olympic Committee, to ensure that all leadership roles are held by people who consistently demonstrate the Olympic organization’s commitment to respect for all people, accountability, accountability.”

Council members Bob Blumenfield, Curren Price and Adrin Nazarian were absent from today’s vote in DTLA.

Wasserman was long thought to be just a villain and very well connected to Epstein (who died in mysterious circumstances in a NYC prison in 2019), the massive document dump made by the DOJ of Donald Trump in late January revealed a 2003 meat book with Maxwell. Wasserman issued a statement of “deep regret” about his encounter with Epstein and Maxwell, and hopes the whole thing will pass.

It didn’t happen, and the LA City Council plans to start shaking up the IOC led by Kirsty Coventry and other sports organizations in the next few weeks to oust Wasserman.

After establishing a relationship with legacy-driven Wasserman in the early days of his administration, LA Mayor Karen Bass recently called for the LA28 chairman to resign. This study challenged Bass, who had a close connection with Wasserman through major donor Jeffrey Katzenberg, joining people like the Hollywood City Council, the Board of Directors of two LA County Districts, and various local elected officials in publicly seeking the grandson of Hollywood king Lew Wasserman from the stage left at $7.7 billion and growing games.

Although almost everyone except the IOC and the hand-picked board of LA28 wants Wasserman to leave and see a new Olympic chief in his place, today’s statement reads like a 2.0 of the strong vote of confidence obtained from the board members on February 11 in a virtual emergency meeting.

The Epstein scandal, which has brought down many in Europe and corporate America (although he is not Epstein’s biggest pal Trump, however) has not paid Wasserman his Olympics gig. However, as Wasserman revealed on February 13, as the Winter Olympics ended, he is selling his agency Team (formerly Wasserman) chosen because of the “disruption” he has become and the clients who were looking for the doors.

With NDAs inking and Team buyers lining up to look under the hood, WME, CAA, UTA, Range Media Partners and other Wall Street bigwigs like Goldman Sachs are all in watch mode, I hear.

Wasserman hopes that this is all old news by the time the Games of the XXXIV Olympiad come around. It is the third Olympics with or without Casey Wasserman LA as the host city will run from 14 -30 July 2028.
