Moore’s Former Teammate Shares Sad Message After His Death

Rondale MooreA former teammate is mourning the NFL star after his tragic and unexpected death.

“Brothera isn’t it brotha you just sent me a message a few hours ago 😢,” said the main receptionist. Hollywood Brown said Saturday, February 21, posted on X.

“You weren’t alone bro.. I told you I know how you feel,” Brown said in another post.

Brown played with Moore — also a wide receiver — for the Arizona Cardinals during the 2022 and 2023 NFL seasons.

Later that night, Brown shared a screenshot of a text conversation between himself and Moore from August 2025.

“I love you bro 🙏🏿 I’ve always wanted to talk to you family,” Brown captioned the post.

“I’m praying for you brother,” read the text Brown sent to Moore. “Sometimes in life if things don’t go the way we planned, we must always remember that God is in control, his plan will always be there, we can trust him and always remember that something is going wrong. I’m here if you need to talk, brother, I know how it hurts, but you know, build for this and don’t give up hope.”

It’s not clear if Moore responded to the text, but she responded to the message with a heart emoji.

The post came shortly after Moore suffered a season-ending knee injury in his first season with the Minnesota Vikings. It was the second season-ending injury of his young career.

Moore, who was just 25 years old, died on Saturday, February 21, police said Us Weekly that his death was allegedly “self-inflicted.”

“The New Albany Police Department is currently conducting an investigation into this incident,” New Albany Police Chief Todd Bailey said. Us. “Due to the ongoing investigation no further details will be released at this time.”

The tragedy sparked a conversation on social media about men’s mental health, with many other NFL players commenting on the disrespect players face when they speak out for help.

Vikings head coach, Kevin O’Connellyou have been told Us in a statement, “I am saddened by the news of Rondale’s passing. Although Rondale was a member of the Vikings for a short time, he was someone we knew well and cared deeply about. He was a humble, soft-spoken, and respectful young man who was proud of his Indiana roots. As a player, he was disciplined, dedicated and strong despite the many challenges he faced in his career.”

“We are all saddened that he will not be able to continue to fulfill his NFL dream and that we will not all have the opportunity to watch him flourish,” O’Connell continued. “My prayers are with Rondale’s family, friends, teammates and coaches as we all deal with this sad news.”
