Justin Timberlake jokes about his race being labeled ‘white’ in video of Hamptons DWI arrest

Justin Timberlake was quite the comedian after he was arrested in the Hamptons for DWI.
Footage of the singer’s arrest in June 2024 was released on Friday after his legal efforts to block it. In one poignant scene from the incident, Timberlake, 45, joked that his race was listed as “white” on the form he was asked to sign.
After being asked to look at his papers, he looked confused as he looked up at the officer and asked, “White?”
When the policeman laughed, he blurted out, “I’m kidding.”
Timberlake himself laughed, adding, “I’m kidding, man.”
The Grammy-winning singer was happy when he met with the police, but he seemed in disbelief when he was told he would spend time in prison.
“You guys are crazy,” he commented.
Timberlake was pulled over by police that night after he allegedly ran a stop sign and swerved into the middle of the road following a night out with friends.
At the start of the nearly 20-minute video, he was pulled over in his gray 2025 BMW and listened as he was asked to complete a series of tests.
He appeared confused by the instructions as he told the police, “These are tough tests.”
Later he tripped several times while trying to walk in a straight line.
“My heart is pounding,” he said.
A female friend came after she was handcuffed and put in the back of the car and tried to get him down but failed.
“Are you arresting Justin Timberlake right now?” he asked, then pleaded, “Guys, please do me a favor because did you like ‘Bye Bye Bye’ or ‘Sexyback?’ Do me one favor!”
Timberlake signed a plea deal to drop his DWI charge to a traffic violation, a non-criminal charge, in September 2024.
Before finalizing the deal, the “Rock Your Body” singer twice denied the original charges.
His lawyer, Edward Burke Jr., previously maintained that the singer was “not drunk” when he was arrested.
“The police made a number of critical mistakes in this case,” Burke told Page Six a month after his client’s arrest.
