Parent Faces Backlash Over Travis Turner ‘Alive’

A high school parent in Virginia has voiced concern over the investigation into the disappearance of a high school football coach Travis Turner he was forced to take drastic measures.

Stephen Murrayhis adopted daughter, who attends the school where Turner, 46, taught and coached, said her life had become “a bad mafia movie.”

“If you don’t live in Appalachia or southwest Virginia or this part of the country … the culture here is secret,” Murray told the newspaper. Daily Mail in an article published on March 10.

Turner was last seen by family members entering a heavily wooded area behind her home on November 20, 2025. Shortly thereafter, she was charged with five counts of child pornography and five counts of using a computer to solicit a minor.

Since then, Murray has been keeping an eye on the school board and pushing authorities to find Turner.

“I’ve been warned by partners saying, ‘You need to find a plan to protect your home.’
It’s something I’m working on,” said Murray.

He added, “White men get this sense of autonomy and power and control and that’s the oldest story in the book, but that’s all there is to it.”

Murray said a woman who had worked in the school system for nearly three decades was fired after she spoke out about “rampant sexual harassment and abuse.”

Union High School, where Turner worked, faced a similar scandal in 2023 when a teacher Timothy Lee Meador He was charged with three counts and pleaded guilty to two counts of child molestation.

“That’s what happened here,” Murray said. “Talk about it and we’ll fire you.”

Despite the alleged backlash, Murray isn’t afraid to make big claims about Turner’s potential well-being.

“Everybody knows he’s alive,” Murray said Daily Mail. “No one believes that he killed himself, and the reason is that he is too cowardly and thinks he is too high to kill himself.”

Murray added, “People [think] he loved himself very much. There is no way that this brought him to suicide. They think he got away with it.”

In a statement to us on March 9, the Virginia State Police said there is “no visible sighting” of Turner and that he remains a fugitive.
