Whoopi Goldberg he is open about his sex life at the age of 70.
“I’m going to chill, I’m going to catch myself,” Goldberg said with a laugh during the Wednesday, March 18, episode. Watching behind a round table that discussed the latest Cosmopolitan an article about a woman who claimed to be single even though she was in a “happy” long-term relationship.
According to Goldberg, the writer of the article complained about missing his “days of dancing and jumping around in public.”
Joy Beharon the other hand, he interjected and asked if Goldberg also missed “those days.”
“I’m single,” Goldberg said. “I hit and run when I need to but I am not married to anyone [and] I have no obligations.”
Turning the question to his married peers at the table, Goldberg wanted to know who the other was Look the hosts missed one life.
“I’m not trying to throw or bar-hop, but binge drinking where I can sit and eat ice cream and no one’s watching,” admits Sara Haines. “I can watch whatever I want [or tell] one person where I go on my day. It is more than this [do] commitments [than] celibacy because celibacy sounds exhausting when you’re looking for someone – but single life was so lovely. I love being the center of my world.”
Goldberg, on the other hand, has been married three times: to Alvin Martin from 1973 to 1979, David Claessen from 1986 to 1988, too Lyle Trachtenberg from 1994 to 1995. (Goldberg and Martin share a 52-year-old daughter, Alexandrea.)
In the years since her third divorce, Goldberg has been vocal about not looking to walk down the aisle for the fourth time.
“I’m very happy on my own,” said the GOT winner The New York Times in the 2016 profile. “I can spend as much time with someone as I want to spend, but I don’t want to be with someone forever or live with someone. I don’t want anyone in my home.”
Although Goldberg isn’t looking for another husband, that doesn’t mean her sex life is over.
“If you don’t want a relationship, find someone who doesn’t mind dating you,” Goldberg said during an October 2015 appearance. The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, sentiments echoed nearly a decade later.
During the December 2025 episode of view, Goldberg also discussed his affinity for “hit and run” sex.
“I like to hit and run because I don’t care about a committed relationship,” he said at the time, which he described as having an affair with someone he loves.
