New York congressional candidate Jack Schlossberg criticized the Hulu and FX series about his uncle, John F. Kennedy Jr., and Carolyn Bessette in an interview Sunday, calling the show a “horror show” of someone’s life and arguing that it was fiction.
Schlossberg, son of Caroline Kennedy and grandson of President John F. Kennedy, criticized Love Story as a way for the show’s producer, Ryan Murphy, to make money.
“Well, if you want to know someone who’s never met anyone in my family, who doesn’t know anything about us, talk to Ryan Murphy. I just want people who will know do watch the show to watch it with one letter in mind, and that’s the capital F of fiction,” Schlossberg told CBS News’ Mo Rocca.
“This guy knows nothing about what he’s talking about, and he’s making a lot of money showing off someone else’s life,” Schlossberg continued. “I would hope that Mr. Murphy would donate some of the millions of dollars in profits that he makes to maybe some of the causes that John fought for his whole life – justice, maybe he would donate some of that money to the JFK Library to help keep the memory of President Kennedy alive. But it’s not, he’s making money. This is not a documentary, and I’m going to leave it.”

Rocca noted that there have been many movies and books about the Kennedy family and asked Schlossberg if there was anything about “Love Story.”
“I think the last year, two years, three years, because of RFK Jr., but also because Donald Trump used JFK as a kind of human wallet, both by renaming the Kennedy Center after him, by conducting a false investigation into the assassination, and dismantling all the programs that he fought for,” Schlossberg said. “There is a lot of misinformation now and images being used about the Kennedy family, mine family, at a time when we cannot confuse people.”
He encouraged Murphy to donate some of the money he makes from the series to something that helps get Trump out of office.
“We need to take every breath we have to try to make things better,” Schlossberg said. “So, if Ryan Murphy cares so much about the Kennedy family, my Uncle John, maybe he can try to do something about removing Trump from power.”
Hulu and FX did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

John F. Kennedy Jr. and Bessette died in a plane crash in 1999. Schlossberg is Kennedy Jr.’s nephew.
Executive producer Brad Simpson responded to Schlossberg’s initial criticism of the series in February, insisting that the show is an “honest” portrayal of his uncle’s life.
“What I hope is that when people watch this show, they will see our sincerity. They will see that we came to this with love, and that we were trying to celebrate the lives of Carolyn Bessette and JFK Jr.,” Simpson. he told The Hollywood Reporter.
“I understand why someone might react before they see it, but I would say, ‘Watch the show,’ because I think they’ll be surprised at how honest it is,” Simpson said.

Schlossberg also addressed some of his social media issues during a CBS interview on Sunday, one directed at second wife Usha Vance. In another post, Schlossberg highlighted her face on one of Usha Vance’s children.
He denied that he “crossed the line” by involving the Vice President’s wife.
“I think what crosses the line is the propaganda that we see being put out every day by the White House and Vance,” Schlossberg responded. “What are we going to do then, hold back? Shall we hold ourselves in our jokes and not make fun of them, make fun of them?”
He added, “First of all, I don’t think anyone seriously thought I meant that we really had a love child! You can point to anything I posted, I’ll take you back to the president sharing pictures of himself blowing up US citizens with feces. This is a new era we live in.”
