The Iranian-American representative, Moj Mahdara, asked the Democrats to stand up on Sunday to answer many members of the party for the actions of the US and Israel against Iran, and said that he was very disappointed by the criticism.
“I think it’s important for the Democratic Party to wake up and get over their dislike of Donald Trump, President Trump, and their feelings of ongoing international conflicts. This is about national security. This is about what’s possible in the Middle East. This is about being a good neighbor, a good partner to the Gulf States and what their aspirations are,” Mahdara, who founded the Iranian Diaspora during the Daaspora Collective, told the Union’s CNNState Collective.
The US and Israel launched a major military campaign against Iran on Saturday, known as “Operation Epic Fury.” The attack has left senior leaders dead, including Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
“When you dismantle and decide this regime, you will see a change in the Middle East, Venezuela, China, Ukraine. And I think that, obviously, their ideas have really, they have caused a lot of problems for us all over the world. We need to take it seriously. And I think that at this time we have a very big opportunity. This will be like ending the Berlin Wall Union.

However, Mahdara, from the Democratic Alliance, said that he does not see himself in the Democratic Party at the moment, because of the party’s response.
“This is a time of change for humanity, for security, and as an American, as an American, this is in our best interest to end it. So I’m a Democrat, I’ve been a big Democrat. I’m incredibly disappointed in my party. I don’t see myself in it at this time,” he added.
Mahdara spoke to “Fox & Friends” on Saturday about the strikes.
“I think the majority of people in Iran wanted the regime to go. I think the majority of people in Iran wanted the regime to never kill 40 people, you know, 40,000 of them, arrest their own. They are tired of the exploitation of their resources, their name in these representative names,” he said.
He stated that this was the only weapon of the Iranian people.

“Something has to happen. And this is unfortunately what it is. And in the speech I heard last night from President Trump, frankly, if I’m talking about you, I’m about 40 years old, I’ve been waiting my whole life to hear a president who always talks like that about that country, because it’s not just a threat to America, it’s a threat to the lives of people in this area,” he said.
Bash also spoke with Masih Alinejad, an Iranian-American journalist and activist, who specifically called New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani.
“In America, yesterday I took the streets of my sisters. I hugged every American because I was saddened when I saw Mamdani’s tweet, Mayor Mamdani sympathizing with the Islamic Republic. There is not a single word condemning this massacre,” she said.

“I went to New York, and I said, ‘This is a beautiful city, New York saved my life.’ New York is my city. I need to hug my people. I need to talk to them. People on the left, right people, Trump supporters, Democrats, all hug me. When it comes to supporting innocent lives, America is united. Time [has] come politicians, Republicans, Democrats, unite for human rights, to protect the whole world,” continued Alinejad.
He responded to Mamdani’s criticism of the US-Israeli attack against Iran directly with X.
