Candace Owens Questions Erika Kirk’s Real Date of Birth in New Documentary

A conservative political commentator Candace Owens he doubts the authenticity of his dead friend Charlie KirkWidowed, birthday of Erika Kirk (née Frantzve).

“I’m going to tell you my opinion and my experience with him,” Owens, 36, said on the Wednesday, February 25, episode of his documentary series. Charlie’s Bride. “What scares me about Erika is not that she is lying, which we will prove to you many times, but I also don’t know that she knows that she is lying.”

Owens suggested that “version [Erika is] what he tells us today or yesterday has just been put into his mind so he thinks it is true.”

“[It’s] like a bad memory or something,” Owens countered, “I’m not sure you know for sure that you’re lying because some lies are stupid.”

The documentary series focuses on Erika’s childhood, including a potential conflict on her birthday. Owens raises suspicions of inconsistency in Erika’s family tree, sharing a “conspiracy theory” that Erika’s aunt, Karlait could be his biological mother. (Erika, 37, has always insisted that her biological parents are Kent again Lori Frantzve.)

Owens argues with Erika that she was born on November 20, 1988, in Cincinnati, Ohio. The analyst revealed quotes allegedly from Kent and Lori’s divorce in 1998, where their daughter was said to have been born on November 22 of the same year. (Owens specifies that the divorce petition was filed by Lori and has “four statements of fact,” or very little personal information.)

Owens also asked Kent and Lori to state in their divorce petition that they were married on November 20, 1995, which would have been Erika’s 7th birthday. The separation agreement filed with the divorce petition gives a completely different marriage date of November 7, 1982.

Owens also disputed Erika’s previous comments that she was raised by a single mother after her parents’ divorce in 1998, saying that there is conflicting information suggesting that Kent was still involved in her life at the time.

“I’ve talked to my classmates, ex-boyfriends, and people are generally confused as to why Erika is now showing no relationship with Kent,” Owens said. Also, if we remove Kent, Erika was raised by her stepfather [Larry] in his home.”

Us Weekly has reached out to representatives for Erika and Turning Point USA for comment.

Owens, the former director of communications for Turning Point USA, has grown increasingly critical of Erika since Charlie was shot and killed while speaking at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah, on September 10, 2025. (A 22-year-old man was arrested in connection with the shooting on September 11, 2025, but has not entered a plea.

In January, Owens leaked an audio allegedly by Erika, reportedly recorded during a Turning Point USA conference less than two weeks after Charlie’s death. In the audio, Erika described her late husband’s public memorial as “the event of the century” and said the organization “has sold over 200,000 items.”

“That’s moving very quickly to the acceptance stage now,” Owens told his viewers. “We know that everyone cries differently. In my mind, I just thought he was going to be very upset.”

At that time, Erika – her husband Charlie was honored by the President Donald Trump in his State of the Union address on Tuesday, February 24 – he honored the founder of Turning Point USA in honor of his 37th birthday on February 20.

“I always liked to celebrate you, and maybe because it showed how well you celebrated me. I fell in love with you, the love of my life,” he shared on Instagram. “I used to wonder what our faces would look like with wrinkles. He always told me that he hoped I would keep my hair long even when we were both gray and that I always wore white (because it was my favorite color).”

The activist continued, “We can laugh about how he’ll still be walking out of college in the 80s, doing ‘Prove Me Wrong’ campus events because he loves those students. And then we both start to get sad when we talk about our kids growing up and having their families. Life is full.”

“Today, somehow, I still love growing old with you, in different places,” continued Erika. So as I blow out the candles this year in deep pain and pray that no one ever feels it, I am reminded that each day, each minute, each birthday…you are with me. Not in the way I ever dreamed, but in the way God has graciously allowed.”

Charlie is also survived by his two children with Erika, a son and a daughter, whose names they choose to keep secret.
