An adorable 2-year-old puppy abandoned by a heartless traveler at Las Vegas’ Harry Reid International Airport has found a forever home with one of the police officers who helped rescue him.

The goldendoodle, nicknamed Jet Blue, was found by Las Vegas police officer Skeeter Black after he was left tied up at a Nevada airport ticket booth when his previous owner was told he could not travel with him, the department said on Facebook on Saturday.

“Several weeks after being found tied up in the luggage compartment inside Terminal 3 at Harry Reid International Airport, the dog now known as Jet Blue is on his way to his forever home,” police said in an exciting post.

“What started out as a sad act of abandonment has turned into a powerful example of compassion, community collaboration.”

An emotional video and photos shared by the department showed Black and his loved ones outside the Retriever Rescue of Las Vegas and Jet Blue happy after the adoption was completed.

The dog was placed in the custody of the animal center after being abandoned on February 2.

Police say the officer and his family had been approved by the adoption agency months ago when they were looking for a goldendoodle – and were quickly chosen to give the happy dog a loving home.

A helpless puppy was rescued from a JetBlue ticket counter at a travel center after its careless owner was told she couldn’t board a flight without a service dog’s documentation.
