The best Prime Day OLED TV deals: LG C5 vs. Samsung S90F

Many savvy shoppers save for big-ticket purchases during big shopping events like Amazon Prime Day or Black Friday, and that’s exactly what Mashable’s shopping team recommends. These are two of the best times of the year to find deals on TVs, and this year’s Prime Day deals do not disappoint. Speaking of Prime Day 2026, two of the world’s best OLED TVs have the lowest prices ever.
The Samsung S90F 65-inch OLED TV is marked down to $1,197.99, while the 65-inch LG C5 OLED has a Prime Day price of $1,199. With a price difference of only $2, which should you choose?
As Mashable’s tech editor, I’m here to help you decide. And I have very good news: There are no wrong decisions here.

Why buy a Samsung S90F OLED TV during the Big Day
If money were no object, we’d go for Samsung’s flagship OLED, the S95F, which includes Art Mode and the same anti-glare technology that made Samsung’s Frame Art TV so popular. But for most people, money is the most important thing. So, the S90F. While you lose these two important features, these two TVs are very similar.
Technically, the S90F is a mid-range set, but it still has the traditional high refresh rate of 144Hz, a beautiful 4K OLED display, and an AI processor for enhanced content. It also has a maximum brightness of 1,600 nits, which is bright enough for almost any indoor setting.
Also, Samsung TVs have a reputation for longevity, and the Samsung smart TV UX is painless.
Why buy an LG C5 OLED TV during the Big Day?
While Samsung has been catching up in recent years, LG has had the OLED TV market locked down for a long time. LG’s popular C Series TVs have won tons of TV of the year awards, and you can count on the new C Series release to be another, if not the best, TV of the year. However, until we see the new LG C6 on sale, many TV reviewers are still recommending the 2025 C5 model, which already has a killer display and feature set.
Like the S90F, the LG C5 supports HDR10 and HLG, but unlike the Samsung, it supports Dolby Vision. Most reviewers agree that the Samsung is a little brighter, even though it doesn’t seem like it.
Overall, these TVs have remarkably similar specs, which probably explains the nearly identical price tags.

My pick: Samsung by a hair
Overall, I can’t say that one of these TVs is better than the other. The choice ultimately comes down to which product ecosystem you choose, and for my money, that’s Samsung. To your credit, our colleagues at CNET recently named the Samsung S90F the best TV you can buy in 2026, with LG coming in second. (Disclosure: CNET and Mashable are both owned by the same parent company, Ziff Davis.)
Some sizes of these TVs are on sale on Prime Day 2026, but I think the 65-inch, flat-screen TVs are Plato’s ideal for this product category. Like I said, there’s no bad choice here:
