Memorial Thursday tee times: What you need to know

Rory McIlroy has accomplished more than most golfers in history: two Masters victories, six major titles and 30 PGA Tour wins (and counting).

But one thing McIlroy never did was shake Jack Nicklaus’ hand before lifting the Memorial Cup at Muirfield Village. World No. 2 is hoping to change that, and his quest begins Thursday.

So far this season, McIlroy has played just seven PGA Tour events. In that short span, he collected three top-10s and one major victory at Augusta National.

A win at the Signature Event this week would earn McIlroy $4 million and provide good momentum heading into the 2026 US Open at Shinnecock Hills later this month.

McIlroy tees off in the opening round on Thursday at 10:25 a.m. ET along with Justin Thomas.

You can watch Thursday’s first round of the 2026 Memorial Championship from 2-6 pm ET on Golf Channel. PGA Tour Live on ESPN+ will offer exclusive early coverage beginning Thursday at 7:45 a.m. ET, in addition to featured group and featured hole coverage.
