Jennifer Lopez shuts down the question of dating Brett Goldstein on ‘Tonight’ with Savannah Guthrie

Jennifer Lopez shut down rumors that she is dating her “Office Romance” co-star Brett Goldstein during an awkward TV episode.
During Tuesday’s “Today” show, Savannah Guthrie asked her guests if the speculation about their off-screen chemistry was true, a question that seemed to surprise Lopez.
“There’s never a time when I’m seen with someone or working with someone when he’s not trying to hook me up,” the “Hustlers” star replied.
Goldstein agreed, “I think when you stand next to him, that’s what happens.”
Guthrie then said, “That’s what you wish would happen,” as the “Ted Lasso” star joked, “That’s why I’ve been standing so close this whole time.”
However, Guthrie was not satisfied with the two’s answers to his question, telling Lopez directly that he was circling the question.
“Okay, but I’m just going to say, because I’m me and you know me, that wasn’t the answer,” she said.
Wasn’t that the answer? Lopez responded to the reporter, noting that there were unfounded rumors about her and Kevin Costner.
Lopez added, “It happens all the time. It doesn’t make it real.”
Guthrie then revealed that the “Let Loud” singer is dealing with all the constant romance rumors because she’s “a hot, eligible single person.”
“OK, so you’re not really cool?” Guthrie asked again.
“It’s not dating,” Lopez said as Goldstein added, “Okay.”
Later in the interview, Guthrie joked that he was “frustrated” as he threw down his cards with another question from Lopez.
“You tried to disturb us, we abused you!” Lopez said with a laugh, as Guthrie responded, “And I was frustrated. It’s not fair!”
Lopez and Goldstein sparked dating rumors while promoting their new rom-com, “Office Romance,” on Netflix on Friday.
In the film, Lopez plays an executive named Jacqueline Cruz, who falls in love with her new hire, Daniel Blanchflower, played by Goldstein.
At the film’s New York City red carpet premiere last month, Lopez talked about the “great chemistry” she has with Goldstein.
“It just grew as we made the film together,” he explained to People. “I was expecting a lot from someone who is aggressive, but you get this person who is kind, gentle but also very smart and handsome. That was a surprise, I think.”
Meanwhile, Goldstein – who wrote “Office Romance” with Joe Kelly – said he always thought of Lopez as his star.
“We started asking ourselves who the best rom-com star is, and without a doubt, we both said J.Lo,” he shared at the premiere, boasting that Lopez is “the best” in the rom-com business.
Goldstein’s only public relationship was with British comedian Beth Rylance in 2021.
On the other hand, Lopez has been married four times.
She filed for divorce from her most recent husband, Ben Affleck, in August 2024, just months before “Office Romance” began filming. She was previously married to Marc Anthony, Chris Judd and Ojani Noa.
