Park Slope’s anti-Israel coop: Letters

Issue: Members of the Park Slope Food Coop voted to ban Israeli-made products from its shelves.
My neighbor and I lived on 4th Street and were founding members of the coop (“B’klyn little shop o’horror,” May 28).
Our goal was to save money, cut out the middleman and find a way to keep perishables refrigerated. That should still be the only goal.
Stop turning everything into a political battleground. Slopies just want to show how involved, sensitive and empathetic they are. Forget that bullshit. Just lower your food bill without breaking the bank.

Thus, the Jews of Park Slope were struck by the boomerang effect of their development. Maybe if no Israeli products are allowed to be sold in all of New York City, they will start to see the light – but I highly doubt it.

To the Israel haters who voted to boycott Israeli products at the Park Slope Coop, it is your responsibility to boycott Israeli innovations as well. Stop using UBS flash drives, Waze and PillCams, to name just a few.
Imagine how happy you would be to get rid of all the things of Israel.

I am not surprised to hear about Park Slope Food Coop’s decision to ban Israeli products.
I was born and partly raised in Park Slope in the 1950s. It was a nice, safe working class place. Now, it has become a stronghold of leftists and Marxists who openly despise the former citizens of Italy, Ireland and Scandinavia, who have been priced out of the area.

In a show of public opposition, the remaining activists of the Park Slope Food Coop authorized a boycott of products made in Israel.
Although these members who hate Israel use words like “apartheid” and “genocide,” they clearly do not understand the history of Nazi atrocities against humanity that they are repeating. The real führer, Adolf Hitler, must be giving them the thumbs up from his bank in hell.

The board of the Park Slope Food Coop talks about genocide, but doesn’t know the meaning of that word. Most of these idiots didn’t grow up during World War II.
If any Jewish family continues to be a member of this co-op, you cannot complain.

Issue: Jersey Gov. Mikie Sherrill joins anti-ICE crowds in Newark as protests turn violent against agents.
If Gov. With Mikie Sherrill putting one-tenth of the effort she gives to illegal immigrants into Newark schools and public safety, the city will get a boost (“Jersey anti-ICE controversy heats up,” May 27).
Holy cities are dangerous all over the country. When Democrats refuse to allow ICE to deport illegal criminals, they encourage these criminals.

Sherrill and Sens. Cory Booker and Andy Kim were unfairly criticized for wanting to close the Newark ICE facility. They should be given the opportunity to explain how it is good in New Jersey to release murderers, rapists, rapists and child molesters.

The New Jersey police should be ashamed of themselves (“Coldhearted mob,” May 29).
The governor ordered them not to help ICE, and they not only obeyed, but stood by when their brothers were attacked by paid protesters. I don’t know how they can look at themselves in the mirror.
I pray that the NYPD does not follow their lead when asked for help by ICE.
