Will Christopher Meloni Return to SVU After Spinoff Canceled?

Christopher Meloni‘s Law and Order a spinoff Organized crime was canceled after five seasons – but that means he’s coming back SVU?
A runner Michele Fazekas recently asked about Meloni’s future as Elliot Stabler, he told him People“Obviously everyone always asks me about Stabler, and I love Meloni. I could use him any way he likes. I tried!”
Fazekas revealed that Meloni, 65, has many plans.
“[Meloni’s] very, very busy,” he commented, “I tried to get him into this. Sometimes I ask the question, ‘Hey, are you working?’ It’s like, ‘Oh, yeah, you’re working.’
Law and Orderwhich first aired in 1990, was introduced Dick WolfThe official TV universe. From there, NBC found success by expanding with Law and Order: Special Victims Unitwhich was first shown in 1999 with Meloni accompanying it Mariska Hargitay. (There were other, short-lived spinoffs, incl Law & Order: Criminal Intent, Law & Order: Trial by Jury, Law & Order: LA again Law & Order True Crime.)
Viewers tuned in week after week to watch Special Victims Unit detectives investigate and prosecute gender-based crimes. Others were hoping to see Olivia Benson (Hargitay) and Stabler (Meloni) fall in love along the way.

After season 12 of Law & Order: SVUMeloni shocked fans by announcing his exit from the hit series. Meloni revealed that the salary dispute had an effect on him not coming back to take more episodes. As a result, Elliott’s exit was interpreted as a decision to retire.
“I left with a lot of hate, but I left with a clear mind and an open mind to moving forward and finding new experiences. I was like, ‘This is what I want to do, move forward,'” Meloni told The New York Post July 2021. “I had done the Law & Order storytelling approach, which they do very well, and I would have liked to tell the story in a different way – whether it was in comics or living in a new world or doing it in social media.”
Hargitay, 62, on the other hand, faced the loss of her scene partner after more than a decade.
“I was very upset, because we started this thing and built it together,” he told People at the time. “And we went through a lot of stages and spent a lot of time together and understood a lot of things that no one else could.
Meloni saw it differently. “He was left to know what we were. And I’m sure there were echoes, constant reminders, everywhere. But for me, it was about how things went – and the word I’ll use is that it was absurd,” he said.
Meloni added: “At the end of the day, the way it was handled was, ‘Okay, I’ll see you later.’ So I went, ‘Okay. We are all big boys and girls here. See you later.’ And I went out on new adventures and did what I wanted to do. Telling the stories I wanted to tell.”
News broke nearly ten years later that Meloni was playing Elliot Law and Order: Organized Crime. The spinoff, which premiered in 2021, ran for multiple seasons before being canceled in April after season 5.
