Mackenzie Shirilla Wrote A Document About Disappearing Before A Fatal Accident

“Hell on Wheels” driver Mackenzie Shirilla She said she had a blackout problem in recently released documents that were sent a few weeks before the accident that claimed her boyfriend’s life. Dominic Russoand their friend Davion Flanagan.
Shirilla, now 21, texted Russo about her alleged health scare in early July 2022, according to messages obtained by TMZ and published Wednesday, May 27, noting that she was worried “it’s going to get worse.”
In the documents allegedly found, Russo asked if Shirilla was deficient in vitamins, noting that it could affect blood flow to her brain.
Their discussion seems to have caused a rift between the two, and Shirilla later responded to Russo, “Keep treating me like this and see where it takes you.”
His health status has become a big topic after Netflix’s release The crasha documentary that examines Shirilla’s relationship with Russo, her drug use and social media posts. He was sentenced to two concurrent terms of 15 years to life in prison in August 2023 after being convicted of murder, vehicular homicide and other charges. He was tried as an adult even though he was 17 at the time. The judge famously described him in court as “hell on wheels.”
During his trial, he said he had fainted during the fatal accident on July 31, 2022, due to his diagnosis of postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS), a chronic medical condition characterized by rapid heartbeat, dizziness and fatigue.

Investigators determined that he was speeding down the road at 100 mph when he drove his Toyota Camry to a brick building in Strongsville, Ohio, that morning. There was no sign that he had ever put his foot on the brake. Russo, 20, and Flanagan, 19, were both not wearing seat belts and were pronounced dead at the scene while Shirilla was seriously injured and taken to the hospital.
Russo’s family maintains that he had been making threats to their son before the accident. There is an alleged July incident captured on Russo’s phone, where he bangs on the door, calls her abusive names and threatens to total her car unless she lets him in.
Another recently released text from Russo in the weeks before the crash indicated he was considering a breakup. He wrote to Shirilla, “I don’t want you to think that I’m abandoning you. I wish it would work but I don’t think it will go well at the moment, especially with the threats that we should just break up so that we can both find happiness elsewhere.”
After the accident, it was discovered that Shirilla was under the influence of marijuana. His blood was tested negative for alcohol and mushrooms after alcohol was found in his car.
One of Shirilla’s last Instagram posts was a tribute to Russo in September 2022, who said, “I don’t understand why this had to happen, if you ***remember. we are soulmates. We did everything together and we had the same dreams we wanted the same life I never met and someone who could make me feel loved and protected.”
Shirilla is currently being held at the Ohio Reformatory for Women in Marysville and will be eligible for release in October 2037.
