Sex therapist who vowed to put ‘American Zionists’ in ‘castration’ centers loses Texas Democratic primary

WASHINGTON – A sex therapist who vowed to force “American Zionists” into immigration detention centers – where many, who he says are “child abusers,” will be circumcised – was soundly defeated in the Texas Democratic primary on Tuesday.
Maureen Galindo, whose “contrarian views and opinions” were criticized by members of her party, lost to challenger Johnny Garcia in the Lone Star State’s 35th district race, 59.5% to 40.5% when the Associated Press called the race at about 10:40 pm EST.
Either Rep. State Republican John Lujan or Air Force veteran Carlos De La Cruz will face Garcia in the Nov. 1 general election. 3.
The 38-year-old Themba previously beat Garcia in the March primary, 29.2% to 27%, but neither received more votes and was forced to face a May 26 runoff.
The 35th district was previously represented by Rep. Greg Casar (D-Texas) but whose boundaries were redrawn amid Texas’ GOP-led redistricting effort, is moving from a solidly Democratic seat to a chance for the Republican nomination in the 2026 midterm elections, according to the nonpartisan Cook Political Report.
Galindo’s campaign doubled down on threats to castrate the candidate in a statement posted on its website a few days before his showdown with Garcia in the San Antonio-based district.
“He wants the Karnes ICE facility to be turned into a prison for millionaire Zionists who have profited from prison state assets and human trafficking. Persecution has nothing to do with religion – be it Evangelical, Catholic, Mormon, Jewish, etc.,” the statement read.
“It is also true that he wants a whole department and a television station that exposes the rapists and yes, they send them to be castrated in Karnes prison, and then they are taken to prisons with violent criminals.”
The campaign was previously posted on Instagram: “You will turn the Karnes ICE Detention Center into a prison for American Zionists and former ICE officers for human trafficking.”
He also claimed, without evidence, that Garcia “was paid to put Jews and Mexicans in concentration camps by Zionist trafficking networks” and attacked “the Jews who own Hollywood,” an anti-Semitic group.
In a joint statement on May 20, Reps. Josh Gottheimer (D-NJ) and Jared Moskowitz (D-Fla.) said they would force a vote to impeach Galindo “anyday” if he wins the November general election.
“Maureen’s radical, anti-Semitic views — including putting Americans in concentration camps — have no place in our party or our country,” House Democrats said.
A licensed marriage and family therapist at Exulted Sex Therapy in San Antonio also called for Garcia to be “tried for treason” for his support of Israel.
Asked by The Post, Galindo warned that “all American candidates and elected officials who knowingly accept money tied to Israel” will face the same problem if he wins office.
The Democratic Majority in Israel spent less than $400 on Garcia’s digital advertising campaign and endorsed him, but neither he nor Galindo accepts money from political action committees affiliated with other groups that support strong US ties to the Jewish state.
A former public information officer for the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office, Garcia said Galindo is backed by unscrupulous Republican donors.
Leading Left PAC supported Galindo with $428,713 in donations, according to the latest data from Federal Election Commission filings. Its website metadata previously included a link to WinRed, a GOP fundraising platform, Punchbowl News reported.
“At a time when anti-Semitism is at historic levels, the Republicans’ dirty campaign tactics are not just reprehensible, they’re dangerous,” Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee spokeswoman Madison Andrus said in a statement.
Garcia’s Latino Vets also trolled Galindo with signs in the district that read, “Yolanda Saldivar will vote for Maureen Galindo,” a reference to the woman who shot and killed Tejano singer Selena at a Corpus Christi hotel in 1995.
