Inside Chelsea Handler’s dating history – from 50 Cent to Bobby Flay

Who’s in Chelsea (love life) lately?
The comedian has spoken openly over the years about his short-term romances — and insisted to Kristin Cavallari on a May 2026 podcast episode that he’s “not a commitment person.”
At the time, the Daytime Emmy winner told “Let’s Be Honest” listeners, “I’m not always late to the party. I know when I have to get things done. … My life is so fun and exciting. I just don’t want to get distracted from that.”
The former manager of “Chelsea Lately” noted that he “has no problem being faithful for five or six months or two years if [she is] really in love” — but if things are “locked in,” you are “out.”
Handler clarified that she is “not panicking,” adding that she doesn’t spend her days “pinning and hoping that [she’ll] to meet someone.”
Page Six revisits his relationship with celebrities below, from rapper 50 Cent to celebrity chef Bobby Flay.
Ted Herbert
During the May 2026 sit-down, Handler noted that her longest romance lasted four years, referring to her time with Comcast CEO Ted Herbert.
More than a decade after the duo’s split in 2010, Handler revealed an unpleasant experience with a female masseuse that led to their split.
“I am very angry with this woman [and] … I ended up connecting with him many times without a guy,” she said on “Radio Andy” in 2023. “That’s when I knew it was time to break up with this guy.”
Handler previously blamed work for the breakdown in their relationship, telling Marie Claire in 2012, “I was coming home from work, and Ted was like, ‘Do you want to watch your show?’ and I’ll be like, ‘No, I just appeared on my show. That’s the last thing I want to do.’ That was the reason why it ended up not being successful.”
Dave Salmoni
Handler and Animal Planet star Dave Salmoni in 2010 – and revealed their split in the single “Chelsea Lately”.
“Up until a few weeks ago, I was very involved with Animal Planet, but unfortunately, that contract was terminated,” he joked.
“However, I’ve enjoyed being in bed with them and I can join the project from time to time,” added Handler.
50 Cent
Handler called 50 Cent, who she dated in 2011, her “favorite ex” — and then took it back when she nominated Donald Trump for president in 2020.
However, he did talk about “beloved” in a January 2023 interview with Entertainment Tonight, calling him “fun to be around.”
He remembers, “My friends liked to hang out with him. I liked to spend time with him. It was a good short-term love, it was only for two months. But yes, if I saw him I would definitely drink with him.”
The former couple got together after the Grammy winner sent Handler “a bunch of roses,” she told listeners of the “House Guest” podcast in December 2025.
Andre Balazs
The actress and businessman Andre Balazs met between 2011 and 2013.
Romance “took the breath out” of the actor and “took him out,” he admitted on Marc Maron’s “WTF” podcast in 2012.
She explained, “It was taking up too much time and it was really hard for me to focus on anything at all. He was living in New York and I was living in LA, and it was going back and forth, flying and meeting. … It was just exhausting.”
Handler later described love as “poison” on “Call Her Daddy” in February 2025, saying it made her “an ironic … worst version” of herself.
Without naming Balazs, she elaborated on her tumultuous journey before the breakup, revealing, “I was 17. [trees] put on either side of his road. … Every fall and every spring, I get a text from him that says, ‘I can’t believe I lost you. Do you want to come and see your trees?’ And I say, ‘I’m not interested.'”
Joe Koy
Page Six broke the news in 2021 that Handler and fellow comedian Jo Koy were together after two decades of friendship – but the couple called it quits in July of the following year.
The former host of “Chelsea” had “no choice” but to end things because “it was going to be relegated.” [her] his own value system,” he said on the “Armchair Expert” podcast in 2025.
Handler explained, “We had a few situations where it was clear that we had different ideas about being together and the time we were going to spend together and what was expected of me as his girlfriend, which was very old for me, old and not going to work.”
He, who never “doubted it for a second [her] decision,” clarifying that he and Koy ended their communication “weakly, maturely [and] a healthy way.”
Bobby Flay
Handler called Flay “cheap” while describing his one “bad” day at Cavalari in May 2026.
Not only did Handler wake up the restaurant’s “absurdity” by sending her room service to a hotel and leaving her with a bill after “talking” and “flirting,” but she also ruined their date.
“It was, like, dirty,” she said, insisting that Flay wasn’t “his game.”
Joe Largura
Handler hard introduced a new love, and her beau was finally identified as construction executive Joe Largura, in March 2026.
The couple met in November 2025 at a Las Vegas blackjack table, and soon took their romance to the next level with a trip to Antarctica.
“I’m still on this guy,” he told the Las Vegas-Review Journal. “It’s hot, and a woman like me needs a lot of movement like that.”
It’s a mystery, men
On “Let’s Be Honest” in 2026, Handler refused to identify the “serious” but “silly” actress who spent her entire day talking about her — and teased a “nice little story” with another mystery A-lister.
She also played a mother in “Call Her Daddy” in 2025 where she described the new man in her life as “respecting his privacy.”
Handler said, “We didn’t really become a couple until about six or seven months ago. I invited him to Mallorca on a trip with a group of friends. … I’ve known him for years. I’ve always been attracted to him, but he’s never been around. I’ve been looking for someone like him in my life.”
