Jordan Spieth hopes this week’s CJ Cup Byron Nelson will finally see him return to the winner’s circle for the first time in four years. It should help that the host course is close to his home in Dallas, Texas.
Spieth has racked up seven top-25 finishes this season to reach No. 41 in FedEx Cup playoffs and No. 47 in the Official World Golf Ranking. But despite two T11 finishes and a T12 at the Masters, he has yet to record a top ten finish.
To get a win this week, he will have to beat another famous Texan, world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, who is the defending champion and is hungry for a repeat after being denied the PGA Championship last week.
Spieth will enter the opening round at 1:43 pm ET along with Chris Kirk and Sungjae Im.
