Kathy Hilton chats with her daughter Paris in a new campaign for Old Navy

From “The Stars Are Blind” to the stars and stripes.
Kathy and Paris Hilton matched the range of American styles for the new summer campaign of Old Navy – a full-circle moment, given the family’s long history with the store brand.
“We used to take it [Paris and Nicky] when they were little,” Kathy told Page Six Style. “They loved flip-flops.”
The beloved matriarch has not responded to her love for the label since then. But these days, she’s shopping for styles instead — like her “all-time favorite” Mid-Rise Wow Boyfriend Straight Jeans.
“The denims are beautiful, and they fit me well,” she said. “I saw that they were soft and not heavy, because during the summer it is hot.”
Although she may be a millionaire, Hilton isn’t afraid to embrace budget-friendly fashion choices.

“I’ve always done understated things, whether it’s my clothes or jewelry,” says the star, who models items like a Seaside Cotton Long-Sleeve Flag Sweater and a Straw Sunhat in the new campaign.
“I need to get up early [outfits],” he added. “I’m going to look at the catalog because I don’t want to spend a lot of money driving around and doing some errands.”

For her part, Paris referenced her signature modern aesthetic with her Old Navy campaign look – however, as Kathy confirms, a lot has changed since then.
“We had a really good time [on set]and I joked with Paris one time,” he recalled, “she was very nice. He’s like, ‘Mom, make sure.’ And I say, ‘OK, OK.’ How the tables turn, right?”

These days, the mother-daughter duo are often showering each other with style advice, too — and raiding each other’s closets with envy.
“I have a lot of very special pieces: vintage Oscar de la Renta, Valentino and Chanel,” says Kathy. “So the girls will borrow such things.
But with Mother’s Day on the way, Hilton’s wish list doesn’t include any designer duds; He told us that the only gift he really wants this year is “private time” with his children.
“We will grill meat and spend the day together,” he said.
