Police responded with a shooting near Chris Brown’s home in Los Angeles

Authorities have responded to a shooting near Chris Brown’s Los Angeles home – and the suspect is in custody.
An LAPD Media Relations officer told Page Six that Friday at around 2:11 p.m., officers from the West Valley Division of the Los Angeles Police Department responded to a radio call about an incident in Tarzana about “a recent shooting.”
“The victim and the suspect got into an argument,” where the suspect allegedly “produced a CO2 stun gun and shot the victim,” according to the LAPD.
The suspect was “caught by the police” and arrested for assault with a dangerous weapon, not a gun. Bail is set at $50,000.00.
Sources told Page Six on Saturday that the “Loyal” singer was not involved.
TMZ was the first to report the news.
According to the sources of this newspaper, the caller was a woman who described the suspect as a black man, aged approximately 35 years. He testified that he fired the gun from his car.
Sources told this newspaper that the law enforcement officers interviewed the suspect and the suspect, saying that the male suspect told them that an argument broke out after the woman refused to leave.
The suspect says he shot the woman’s car after it drove into her foot.
Law enforcement sources told the court that the suspect was taken into custody at the scene and arrested for vandalism and assault with a dangerous weapon.
Officials told the newspaper that the incident happened on the street outside the singer’s residence – not inside the Grammy singer’s home or venue.
It is unclear if Brown was present at the home at the time of the incident.
A spokesperson for Brown did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment Saturday.
Although Brown wasn’t involved, he’s dealt with plenty of drama before — the “Under the Influence” singer was arrested in May 2025 in Manchester, England for allegedly hitting music producer Abe Diaw with a bottle of tequila at a London nightclub in 2023.
He was charged with one count of wounding and was eventually released on bail. Brown pleaded not guilty in June 2025 and the case will go to trial in October 2026.
Diaw, in turn, sued over the incident – although in June 2025, Brown reached a settlement with Diaw, who subsequently dropped his $16 million civil lawsuit.
Brown is also on trial with former housekeeper Maria Avila, who sued the R&B star in 2021 for allegedly attacking his sister’s dog in 2020.
The case will go to trial on June 15, and Brown – who was accused by Rihanna’s ex of domestic violence in 2009 – recently filed a motion to prevent any mention of the incident during the trial, according to the Daily Mail.
